Any of these work for me over what we had. Hope the idiots are smart enough to get rid of Devey (fa let him go) and Pears (cut, i believe 0 hit)

Staley, Tiller/Thomas, Kilgore, Davis, Brown

Staley, Davis, Kilgore, Tiller/Thomas, Brown

Staley, Osemele, Kilgore, Tiller/Thomas, Brown

Staley, Brown/Tiller/Thomas, Kilgore, Davis, Cordy Glenn

MOST IMPORTANTLY, MAKE SPARANO OUR OL COACH NOT TE COACH. HE SHOULD BE RETAINED WITH RATHMAN AND THATS ALL!!!! Or just do whatever the hell you want Jed and continue to tear apart this organization.

I think it's too quick to can Foerster. He's usually a 2nd season guy, mostly because he's always converting a power OL into a ZBS OL (sound familiar?). I think he's a VERY good ZBS guy, and he needs 1-2 more guys. ZBS guards aren't terribly tough to come by. We can spend some $$ in FA to ensure that he has his guys. That said, I am on board with replacing most of the staff. I like Tomsula a lot, but I have no confidence in his ability to manage a team and prepare them to win.

I was impressed with how Brown did against Ansah yesterday. He didn't even give up a sack to him yesterday which is pretty darn impressive considering Brown was a 7th rd pick. I love his power and reach.. and quick feet for a big guy.

So last week IIRC, he gave up 1 pressure in 33 snaps and yesterday, he played 62 offensive snaps...how many pressures has he given up? Sacks? QB hits?

WRATH pointed out he blew a couple assignments in the running game and/or got crossed up on a stunt?

But overall, that is an outstanding performance for a "free pick" in the Pinion trade-back and has to be right up there in terms of grading/evaluation (-7 in PP & -1.1 in RB) against two really good DL and pass rushers. The kid could have a very bright future if he keeps his head down, continues to study his assignments, learns from Staley and keeps his weight down.

WRATH, with the likes of Staley - Tiller - Kilgore - Martin/Pears - Brown, do you see these players better suited for power or the ZBS? Have you seen a shift away from the ZBS to power as the personnel have changed?

Completely agree. Regardless of the ceiling, we made out well on this pick from all angles. It's a limited sample but I really, really like what I see and what we have their. Can't believe he didn't start earlier in the season. That part scares me.
What's exciting to me is we may not have to invest as much as we originally thought on the o-line. We may just need to find a starter at RG and build depth. I still can't understand for the life of me why we don't give Brandon Thomas a look

LT - Staley
LG - Tiller
C - Kilgore
RG - FA/draft/AD
RT - Brown/AD
Because he's always struggled against better speed/power guys in pass protection and doesn't lose to many guys if he can get his hands on them.

This is the season's biggest mystery and I can't believe neither MM nor MB have asked this question. He looked good in pre season and then completely goes MIA all season despite the struggles of Devey and now, forcing Pears from RT to RG. Just .

I can somewhat understand Brown, as a T has a ton to learn regarding technique, assignments, facing stunts and big time pass rushes, his weight, conditioning, etc. Obviously, it would have been nice to see him split with Pears for much of the year to expedite his growth but whatever. He's clearly ready now.

I'd also consider pouching the top C in the draft/FA (again). We do NOT want to be stuck with Kilgore going down again and Martin at C. Ever. It literally, ruined out season, got CK and 12 other RB's a trip to the I.R.

Baalke has to try and upgrade as much as possible in FA (especially - you want veterans) and the draft.

We all got a glimpse into what having an OL can do for this team in the first half of yesterday's game. Night-and-day difference.

Look at this coaching staff...it took them 15 weeks to get a competent RT on the field. 8 weeks to get Devey out of there. People calling Thomas a bust need to pump the brakes. Like with many players on this team, he's being improperly evaluated.
Trent Brown needs more seasoning. The 1st&10 before the Gabbert fumble, he whiffed on the block of the DE. He took a step inside, the DE goes outside. Brown never got a hand on the DE. Gabbert had to run backward away from the DE and try to throw to an open Bruce Miller. That could have gotten the team out of a hole. No gain on a 2nd down run. Then Kilgore couldn't follow through on his block of #92 on the 3rd down. Gabbert should've taken care of the ball better though.

This!

Look at this incompetence (or obvious tank-job for the draft pick):

The 49ers had just three rushing attempts in the second half for minus-1 yard. Harris had two carries for minus-1 yard, and Hayne was stopped for no gain on his only second-half attempt.

"DuJuan's been here a week, so teaching the pass-protections to a running back in a week is a big deal," Tomsula said.

This is insane...we were only down 3 at the half. You come out and do what you did to start the game if you're interested in winning (of which, I'm highly skeptical). Trying to say he was pulled for the entire second half b/c he didn't know all his pass protection assignments is an absolute smoke-screen or pure incompetence.

You keep him running to start the 2nd half, controlling the LOS, the clock, TOP, etc...then you don't NEED to worry about pass protection and throwing on every down.

Appreciate this objective analysis blurb. We noticed that tendency as well over the year...he does have a tendency to slide-step inside. With his size, quick feet and reach, he just needs to angle slightly outside and funnel everything inside (b/c he washes everything out outside n/p). He's so imposing to get around outside, where he lines up and his stance alone can force inside action all day long and give Gabbert a clean pocket and make life easier on himself.

4 Years if we keep Bozo the Tomsula another year

VERY good call.

I'm like a lot of people in the Zone who can't grasp why Thomas never sees a snap and a sack of poop like Martin did.

If he's worse than Marin - get rid of him.

But, like you mentioned, this coaching staff is an epic fail!

I think with Davis and Brown fighting it out at RT...they should focus on the OG position. I like what Tiller has done but Boone is good as gone.

I think many zoners over value what they think Boone can get elsewhere.

I say it's a 50/50 shot he comes back.
