I think with Davis and Brown fighting it out at RT...they should focus on the OG position. I like what Tiller has done but Boone is good as gone.

I think many zoners over value what they think Boone can get elsewhere.

I say it's a 50/50 shot he comes back.

There's not a ton of solid OG going into FA...I'd be more than happy to have him back. Someone will over spend for him.

Thomas had a bad ACL tear in the spring of '14, and has been slow to fully recover, It happens with the big guys sometimes

I expect he will begin to contribute in '16, Im holding off on the bust tag for now

MOST IMPORTANTLY, MAKE SPARANO OUR OL COACH NOT TE COACH. HE SHOULD BE RETAINED WITH RATHMAN AND THATS ALL!!!! Or just do whatever the hell you want Jed and continue to tear apart this organization.

I think it's too quick to can Foerster. He's usually a 2nd season guy, mostly because he's always converting a power OL into a ZBS OL (sound familiar?). I think he's a VERY good ZBS guy, and he needs 1-2 more guys. ZBS guards aren't terribly tough to come by. We can spend some $$ in FA to ensure that he has his guys. That said, I am on board with replacing most of the staff. I like Tomsula a lot, but I have no confidence in his ability to manage a team and prepare them to win.

I think you're not serious about it. Foerster is the worst OL coach in league. When he was with Singletary's staff was awful also with Shanahan's. Only reason he was hired is because this was his last chance to do something important. Either Tomsula goes or not, coaching staff has to change drastically on offense, defense and special teams.

However, I think this organization has to go with Goff or Cook with the 1st pick. This team needs something to hang their hat on and get excited about. Gabbert is not the long term answer. No doubt I would love to have Tunsil but if Jed York had half a brain, he should be drafting a potential franchise QB to add some stability back to this franchise. Something we are in desperate need of. It appears Gabbert is what we all thought he was.. a checkdown king.

lol no...

LYNCH!!!!

I would cut or trade Martin ASAP. Terrible player that never got better....arguably worse!

Yeah, Martin is too soft. As for Thomas, who knows. He looked decent in preseason, but with this potato coaching staff, the right players are never on the field.

Yeah, for a hot second he was considered the best RT in the game in 2012. He was mauling people and a very good pass blocker. The injuries caught up in 2013, still played every game. The shoulder wasn't handled right in the offseason before 14 never got in shape and got hurt.

Wrong. Singletary took a top 3 ZBS coach and forced him to run a man/power scheme. That's like using Anquan Boldin exclusively as a deep threat WR.
Then Foerster went to WAS, had a bad first year as he converted them to a ZBS scheme without all of the personnel, then they were a dominant unit. They did a great job limiting sacks while producing huge holes in the running game. Who's a better ZBS guy? Cable, for sure, but then who?

I disagree that he was a very good pass protector. I think he has the ability to be a very good pass protector, but he had terrible lapses tat resulted in fast edge pressure, ugly sacks, and QB hits that lead to interceptions and off-target passes. Several of Kap's rushed reads and poor fade passes were prompt by quick edge pressure surrendered by Davis. I don't know if it was the injuries, the conditioning, or simple lack of sustained focus. When he was on, he was very good. When he was off, he was horrible and slow. I'd like to have him get his feet back under him after the year off by playing inside and working with Staley. Maybe he could develop the consistency that top tackles need to have, and he can be the future at LT.

I'm like a lot of people in the Zone who can't grasp why Thomas never sees a snap and a sack of poop like Martin did.

If he's worse than Marin - get rid of him.

But, like you mentioned, this coaching staff is an epic fail!

Sack of poop

He wasn't soft in 2014 but read a few articles he lost weight in the offseason. Clearly, wasn't as strong. Oh by the way, wasn't he the lineman that spent the offseason working out with Vernon Davis? Now the "softness" makes sense!!
Sure impressive to see the number of folks absolutely certain Davis is returning in 2016. I wonder what the book makers think about davis's return. My guess would be about 1/20 or a 5% chance of returning.

As for Brown, what a shame he didn't get to start until week 16. The guy should have been starting 2 months ago, but our feckless HC didn't see it that way. Instead we got the fantastic trio of pears, martin, devey. And tomfoola really thot that all those guys were better than brown? Wow, just wow. HC tomsula....so sad, too bad, U R had. Adios, muchacho.
