Terrell Owens Thread: Hall of Fame?

He single handedly threw his coach, OC and QB all under the bus numerous times. His agent f**ked up optioning out of his contract, we had him dealt to Baltimore for a 2nd but eventually had to settle for a garbage deal from the Eagles. TO as great as he was, was a very poor teammate. He was the type of guy who would rather lose with 8 catches and 125 yds then win with 2 catches and 10 yards. He did this everywhere (SF, Philly & Dal).

Having said all that, his numbers still make him a HOFer.

It would've been great to see Owens in his prime vs Sherman. What a matchup that would be

TO would get owned by Sherman. For as big and buff as TO was, he avoided contact like the plague. Alligator armed passes often when he was gonna get lit up. Was a threat to take it to the house EVERY time he touched the ball, but a bit overrated imo. Dude was a pu$$y when it came to contact. Only great play I ever saw him make that included contact was The Catch II.

He will forever be the greatest receiver in my eyes and I'm pissed he couldn't get his ring with the 49ers! Along with Gore, Willis Etc. Shout out to T.O. for making the td celebrations entertaining.

Imagine if moss played with Montana and Rice, how great would his numbers have been?? I make an argument for Moss as the greatest wr ever because had you swapped him and rice's situations, their numbers would have turned out much different. It's ridiculous what moss was able to do with such mediocre QBs

Moss made his qb's look great. Best hands I've ever seen. He easily should have had multiple rings. I wouldn't refute that argument either. Moss is truly my #1 receiver to ever play. Records aside, his presence commanded more. I hardly remember flash 80 but I did see the latter part of his career. However, I like T.O. more than Rice

Champ Bailey said TO was one of the three toughest covers he ever faced. You think Sherman would own Owens? Cmon man! TO physicality would have Sherman gasping for air by the third quarter. TO wasn't one to avoid contact. He always made plays over the middle of the field bouncing off tackles and taking ish to the house. Plus Sherman plays one side of the field and TO was on both sides in the slot and took handoffs on the end around. You watched TO?

So y'all didn't grow up seeing Rice and now you saying this? Warren Sapp wrecked Rice while he was still 35 yo coming off 1800 yd rcv years and slowed his career arc of productivity. Jerry was tearing up all the record books too way up in his old age. TO could've caught Rice but not Moss and his poor work ethic. TO ran the complete route tree he blocked and he rushed on end arounds. Give me TO all day

Well, it's a shame then you didn't get to see Jerry from about '87-'95. No receiver ever touches how dominate he was. Nothing TO did ever came close to eclisping pre knee injury Jerry.

If Moss had the work ethic of Jerry, perhaps he could have been as great. Well, he didn't. Jerry in the pass happy league today would catch 130-150 balls a year. Noted as a flanker, Jerry also killed out of the slot.

Take 1987 for example, Jerry had 23 tds (22 rec, 1 rush) in 12 games.

Lol no fkn way. He was no p***y, Not off the ball. He was a beast off the ball. Now on a slant after the catch yes he dodged a lot and took the easy way,, but i doubt Sherman would own him.
Plus that Packers game catch was pretty tough

Huh? Yes I watched T.O. "I love me some me"..."Get'cha popcorn ready".. i don't think you were trying to reply to me but T.O. was one of the most physically gifted athletes I've ever watched. I just liked Moss better. I'd choose Charles Woodson over Bailey though

You take Moss I take TO and his work ethic and willingness to make plays all over the field and over the middle and from the backfield. Moss was a freak but TO was a G

T.O. owned the falcons in one game. There was an interview in which he stated that hit against the falcons hurt more than the catch II. T.O. was tough as nails. His knock was too many dropped balls

How about buffalo and Cincinnati? Played great with both, and caused no problems in the locker room. Donte whitner said he was a great teammate in buf and was vouching for the 9ers to sign him when he was a free agent

Do u not agree rice had a much better situation than moss did? Walsh? Montana? Young?

He was in his 15th year by then and was already kicked off of 3 teams. That probably had more to do with wanting to keep a job in the league then some great change. If it was some great change, then it's a shame he had to piss away prime years killing chemistry on teams.

Of course rice did, but let's not act like moss played with bums. Before Culppepper, touched his knee he was trending as at least a top 5 QB. Look at his 2004 season it was crazy.

Moss also played with Brady and put up really good number, but they didn't blow Jerrys number away and this was in an air raid offense that threw the ball 65+ % of the time in a league that made it easier to throw and catch.
