"I came in to rehab and we got into a discussion about me signing autographs," said Owens, who had skipped two autograph sessions for fans this week. "In the midst of that, he just told me to shut up. I just told him, 'I'm a grown man,' and I told him the same. I told him to shut up."

Owens, who said he never cursed at Reid, indicated he was summoned soon after to Reid's office for a meeting. At that meeting, Owens said, Reid told him he couldn't run the team with Owens acting the way he was acting and refusing to talk to the assistant coaches.

"I told him, 'My last name isn't Reid,' " Owens said on the television program, which was co-hosted by Washington Post columnist Michael Wilbon. "I'm not one of his kids. The last time I checked, my last name is Owens. You want me to treat you with respect, you treat me with respect."

What murderer are you referring to? Your dementia must be acting up again because I imagine you are confusing Leonard Little with Earl Little. Pretty hard to take someone seriously when they call random people with similar names a murderer.
The murderer is Marvin Harrison, you linked a quote to him ripping Owens. I remember reading he never helped or even spoke to Reggie Wayne. What a great guy!

At least he didn't celebrate touchdowns.
At the end of the day TO was either the best or 2nd best WR of his era (Moss is the only competitor I put up to him).

If you are the best at your position for a good length of time you should be in the HOF, no matter what kind of jerk you might have been.

If your playing career was on the fringe of hall-worthy, but you were also a tremendous human being, won NFL man of the year, helped teammates to be better, made a few incredible plays to win games etc., then I think it propels you into the hall.

Owens personality and locker room issues should not carry enough weight to drag him out of the hall. Nobody EVER questioned his will to win, and his devotion to work. In practice and on game day he brought it 100% of the time. He came back from a broken leg and almost dragged the Eagles to a SB (Over the "amazing" Patriots of all teams). When you see a great run by one of his teams, go and look for TO blocking, he was always doing his job. (Go check out the Garrison Hearst 96 yarder for reference).

Absolutely ridiculous that they keep him out because he was a dick to reporters and some teammates.

So please. All I am asking for is ONE quote. Just one. I'll wait. Actually I wont wait. Because I will be waiting my whole life. The quote doesnt exist.

Marvin Harrison never murdered anyone. The shoot out he was allegedly involved in the guy survived. The key witness was a two bit hustler who the DA couldn't even trust so they dropped the charges.

I'm askin the same question here... how those guys (IRVIN - LAWRENCE TAYLOR - RANDY MOSS - RAY LEWIS - FAVRE) didn't have any issue goin to the HOF (1st ballot) when their scandals was much worse than T.O.

The obvious answer is the the voters do not agree that off-field/non-football related matters are worse than locker room issues. Hence the vote.

Rips the organization, fights with the coaches. Had a fistfight in the locker room before his year long suspension there and in someways it is all looked as a ploy to get a raise a year after signing a HUGE contract or to get out of it.

Why have voters put Michael Irvin and Ray Lewis into the HOF but not TO?

Ray Lewis isn't in the HOF. He is eligible this year.

correct

I will be shocked if he isn't in. His TV work clearly shows he has gained respect.

An eyewitness, Robert Nixon, was also shot and injured, according to police. In his statement to police - which he began by saying that he feared for his safety in coming forward - Nixon identified Harrison as the shooter, as the only person at the scene holding a gun. Police said they matched bullet casings found at the scene to a gun registered to Harrison.

He was later murdered, justifying his fear of coming forward. Marvins no joke.

I know the story, the guy was killed a half a block from a bar Harrison owned even. But it wasnt the witness who was killed it was the guy involved in the first incident. They have very similar names. You still can't go around calling someone a murderer without proof. Its pretty irresponsible.

Well, we know he's shot multiple people. Not much of a reach. You generally shoot people trying to kill them, you know?

I'd say it's on par with saying Owens ripped teammates and not providing a single link.

And yet for the HOF it's not so much what you did off the field as it is on the team.
