Niners didn't try to screw him. His agent screwed up and the Niners agreed to a reasonable trade.

I still don't understand why 9er fans still like this guy. He s**t on the organization when he played for us, and he just did again tonight by saying "Well, it won't be with the 49ers."
He just got elected to the HALL OF FAME! Why does he have to take a shot at the 9ers????? This guy was the most selfish person to ever put on a 49ers jersey. He was better off on the Cowboys, because that's the type of mindset that team has......Not the San Francisco 49ers!

Bout time. Happy for T.O. But, it's f**ken bs he wasn't first ballot.
The bias voters robbed him of that honor.
I'm also glad the Wolverine made it too.

He never bashed McNabb while he was his teammate. Same with Garcia.
Management didn't want him gone. That's revisionist history. The 49ers tried to extend his contract before the 2003 season and his asking price was too much for them. That basically meant his 49ers career would be over after 2003, since he was about to hit free agency (until his agent missed the deadline to void his contract and requested a trade). Owens and his agent also asked to be left unprotected for the expansion draft in 2002 and the 49ers refused, instead having Steve Mariucci fly out to Atlanta to meet with him and make up with him for throwing Owens to the wolves after the Dallas star celebrations in 2000.
In Philadelphia, Andy Reid wanted him on the team; so much so that he made him a deal that he could stay on the team if he did all the apologizing he asked for after ESPN took his answer to the Irvin/Favre question out of context (that question was a follow up to Owens saying the Eagles' record would be better if McNabb wasn't injured, but they edited out the previous question). If was only when Owens refused to apologize to McNabb for the out-of-context interview clip that Reid suspended him. The night before the grievance hearing, Owens and Reid actually spoke on the phone and had tentative agreed to a plan to let Owens come back. Reid called him back later and said the deal was off, so somebody nixed it. Considering Reid was actually the Eagles' acting GM at the time, it was either the owner and/or McNabb who blocked it.

Incidentally, your first comment bemuses me. So it's ok to call someone gay, or a quitter, or a poor quarterback as long as you no longer play for the same team? The lack of class of putting down other players publicly is made even worse by the cowardice of not doing it to their face.
He's a Hall of Fame player, but clearly not a Hall of Fame person. Still, his play on the field got him in so congrats I guess.

Had they not given too much money to that worthless piece of
WR J.J. Stokes, they might have been able to take care of T.O.
J.J., had No Heart … and I never understood how they opted to
take care of him over Owens. I lost all respect for him, when
Romanoski, spit in his face, and he did nothing in return !

Im very glad TO got in and should have been a first ballot. He was robbed but it was from his own doing.
TO has burnt every bridge he has been on and to him its always someone elses fault heck just look at the excuses ITT. At some point TO has to look at himself in the mirror. 3 teams got rid of him in his prime for a reason.
But im glad he is in. He was awesome when he was a Niner.

I still don't understand why you guys think you know better than Terrell Owens's actual teammates what kind of teammate he was.
Derrick Deese played with Terrell Owens for all 8 years he was in SF, and he said you guys are full of s**t on your own podcast.
And do our fans not understand what he meant to our organization the years he was here? Do they not understand that the 2001 and 2002 49ers clearly don't make the playoffs without him? Do they not understand that even before that, Owens was one of the most crucial parts of the team? That even in his rookie season in 1996, he won the game vs. the Oilers (10-9) with a game winning 20 yard catch-and-run TD and tied the Bengals game in the 4th quarter with a 45 yard deep TD against the Bengals? That he made The Catch 3 to beat GB in the playoffs in a miracle? That he led the team in the incredible comeback win against the Giants in the 02-03 wildcard playoffs, which also included being the team's emotional leader with his speech at halftime?
49er fans are hating on the guy who was the best player on the freak'n team for a number of years. It's just incredible.
Meanwhile, they defend/positively remember all kinds of lame players whom I won't even get into.
And then you have the media imbeciles who claim through revisionist history that the best player on the team - the guy who carried the 49ers to the playoffs in 2001 and 2002 when almost nobody was expecting them to make the playoffs again any time soon after the rebuilding process was under way - made the team worse instead of better.

Only 1 team got rid of him in his prime, and it was only after he refused to do all the apologizing they asked after the media took his response to the Irvin/Favre question out of context (editing out that it was a follow up question to Owens saying the team's record would be better if McNabb wasn't injured).
The 49ers didn't get rid of him any more than the Eagles got rid of Reggie White. Owens filed for free agency. The only difference is his agent didn't meet the new deadline and they had to request a trade instead. In case you forgot, the 49ers had already released Jeff Garcia, Garrison Hearst, Derrick Deese, and Ron Stone, and made no effort to re-sign Tai Streets or Jed Weaver.
As for Dallas - he was 35. LMAO @ the notion of him being in his "prime" then. Is Larry Fitzgerald in his prime? He will turn 35 this year.
Oh, and also: Somebody forgot to tell the Dallas Cowboys that they were releasing Owens for behavioral issues.

Not an argument.
SteveWallacesHelmet dominated this argument worse than T.O. dominated Todd Lyght.

T.O is the grandaddy of all Diva Receivahs. IIRC, he started all of this drama queen attitude with WRs followed by Chad Ochocinco, Dez Bryant and the rest. Great player but very selfish.

This is how I can tell if you did indeed watch T.O. play on the field... maybe you were young and you're just going off Media memories.
Was T.O. selfish on the field? Answer that.
