For me it's Hell No! I mean i hear what they're going through and understand the risks but they just proven they are a risk & just bailed on their team. So, I wouldn't want to deal with them.
Next man up!

Yes, I'd let AD compete at Guard and Borland at Nose Tackle.

If they do unretire, hopefully we already found their replacements. Trade them both.

Maybe, it could be that maybe they didn't want to risk they're health for this FO or this coaching staff. If things go south this year, they would have been vindicated in their decision of waiting to come back. I think its highly likely at least one of these will be back under different circumstances.

Bring both back, trade them to Tennessee for 3 7th rounders and some more hot cheerleaders.

That's a little harsh. Few of us can relate to the kind of punishment they have to take in order to play in the NFL. When you see former players having difficulty walking or with brain trauma leading to mental illness or even suicide I can't blame anyone for wanting to leave the game with their health rather than find a way to get every last snap out of their body.
AD sounds more like he wants to take some time off and heal up and then consider a comeback rather than being forced to take the field before his inuries have properly healed. Understandable. borland was more of a surprise but it looks like he has decided the risk is simply to great and it is doubtful he will consider a comeback.
If either wants to make a comeback next season I would welcome them back. If we have already replaced them with near equal talent or better we could always trade them.

Borland isn't unretiring. He's done period. Hell, he nearly retired before he even started playing in the NFL.
