Do you take AD or Borland back if they Un-retire?

To think people in the media actually called Borland's early retirement a brave move. How is quitting brave? And AD, well, his desire had been in question since he was drafted.

Let them go elsewhere and wish them well. We don't need that kind of disrespect and disfunction in the 49ers locker room.

It's brave to give up financial security to protect his long term cognitive future.

Borland is never coming back judging by his interviews.

AD I would take and trade immediately.

This!

I would keep him. After this retirement I doubt his trade value is much more than a 7th round pick and some gum. As a tackle, I would like him back in the line up.

Can you sign him at a reduced price or do you have to stick to his current contract?
It looks like Chris Borland has developed some resentment against Football since his retirement & now sees it as some kind of modern day blood sport... Until that changes I'd say there is little to no chance he un-retires.

dangerous sport? well.. yeah.. borland plays, gets paid millions and retire by 33... set for life.. we work and retire at 60+.. id play football any day :)

Junior Seau might disagree with this statement, if he could.

Well Junior Seau is a dumbass for killing himself. I don't know how he was feeling obviously, but it's not like he was forced to play MLB for 20 seasons in the NFL. Maybe he shoulda retired a few years earlier. I just don't see how he could have been feeling perfectly fine even into his last few seasons, then suddenly after he retired he decided "well, I don't feel very good, I think ill shoot myself."

It's cool for Borland that he made his choice, but he shoulda made that choice before the Niners wasted a draft pick on him and invested their future in him. And he should simply just shut his fu**ing mouth and stop bashing football now. He made his choice, we get it, now just STFU please. He acts like just because he was concerned for his well-being in the future enough to retire after 1 year and sacrifice a bunch of $$ that everybody should just stop playing football now too. As a kid playing pop warner, it doesn't take a genius to realize football is pretty dangerous
AD? Yes. Borland? No.

To all the "HELL NO"ers: you can't let sentiment get in the way of business. Anthony Davis was possibly the best RT in the NFL before his injury. Borland was a shoe-in for Rookie of the Year had he started all year. In other words, even if you don't want them, they have value! And you don't give up value for nothing if you can avoid it. (And aside from Aldon Smith and Ray McDonald, we've been really good at this game.)

The Niners have been using the right strategy in always trading and letting free agents walk picking up comp picks along the way. Over the long haul, this is the ONLY way to win consistently in the NFL. The only question for the Niners is their scouting: are they using those picks on the right players. If they do, they're set for years; if they don't, they're screwed. This year will tell us a lot.

But if we can take either of those players written off as retired and convert them into future assets, we win!

Borland makes an appearance in the new Aaron Hernandez Doc on Netflix. He gave some good insight into his situation. Good Doc, definitely worth a look.

every time this post is bumped for whatever reason. this is my standard response. the hell with both of them
Borland can make a bunch of tackles, but he doesn't fit what this current team wants at the LB position.

Kyle wouldn't put up with AD's BS. I'm retire, unretired, I want to play...wait-- no...yes but pay me more...mmm no.
