such a shame...Dude was a beast for a couple of years with us and was on a roll to break sack records.
I will always love him for that sack against the midget in the NFC championship game...recovers fumble

First thing the league should do is give him a piss test.
on 95.7 the game, they were saying that since he's suspended, he's not in the Program/NFL right now as he has to apply for reinstatement. which means that they cannot test him.

They weren't 100% sure. but it kind of makes sense on how can the league test you if your not in the league, idk ?
Aldon is under contract so why cant he be tested?

The League may not be able to test him for that reason, but you would think that the Raiders would be able to.

They can and do b/c he's under contract. In MM's article here, like the 4th or 5th video, http://www.csnbayarea.com/49ers/door-wide-open-receiver-win-no-2-job-49ers at the 3:10 mark. The NFL and Raiders can keep tabs on via drug testing.

My bigger question is since he violated parole and the last judge noted that ANY issue with drugs/alcohol again, he'd send him straight to jail, after the hit-n-run and cop saying he was inebriated and with this latest issue, HOW IS HE NOT IN JAIL YET?

Are they still waiting for a hearing? This is like Marshawn Lynch where it all just quietly went away.

Just goes to show that sports stars are given a ton of leeway in these matters (for Aldon not be in jail by now).

Even if I don't like it I can see why that is the case, because these guys bring in a lot of tax money.

Better for the state to make money off these guys (by playing in the league) than not (by them sitting in jail/prison).

At some point though you have to say enough is enough.

I don't personally give a s*** about pot use, that should be legal and not the issue it is made out to be, but the other stuff he's done deserved harsher consequences.

No, but he probably won't be reinstated any time soon. If he kept his nose clean he might have been back in the middle of the season. I doubt that now.

its all aldons own fault so I do not feel sorry for him in the least. as many have said.. thank god he is no longer our problem and i think our rookie will be everything we hoped smith was going to be
Aldon's video makes me recall a story of Detroit Piston 7 foot center Reggie Harding who played in the early 60's. After leaving the game he hit on hard times and robbed the same liquor store several times, the last time he tried to rob the store wearing a ski mask he said to the owner, this isn't me. Yeah you must be different 7 foot thief. The store owner showed mercy and shot him in the leg.
