I thought Smith said something negative regarding the Niners after they released him? I'm not entirely sure tho.
After he signed with the Raiders he said he was glad to be with a franchise that fully supported him. So that was a backhanded compliment at the Niners.
Not a compliment on any level, just a douchebag statement by a guy with serious issues at the time. The 49ers bent over backwards for him.

If Aldon gets cleared by the commissioner, I would not mind bringing him in on a league minimum contract, and see if he can make the roster. Might be a good edge rusher for us if/when Ford is off the field.
