It's good to see him playing well. His demeanor after making a play showed a humble man, not trying to make it all about him.

I don't really hate the cowboys like most of you do. I have massive love for Zack Martin and Jaylon Smith, and now, Aldon Smith. I'm always glad to see a redemption story.

I hated the Cowboys in the 90s, but then again, I hated the Rams and the Giants in the 80s... hated teams that's on OUR way... like Seattle now.. but one injured player I was hoping that Baalke would trade up for was Jaylon Smith.. I was hoping we can land the guy..
as for Al-Drunk Smith, the guy looks good and I'm happy for him.. He no longer have the great football body and you can tell is not in football shape, but he looked solid against Seattle... I have feeling we're going to face the Cowboys in the playoffs.

You had your reasons to hate the cowboys and Rams back then. When I started watching football, the 49ers had the upper hand against them, so I wasn't around to see the cowboys winning those playoff games against them. I hated the Rams in the 2000's and I absolutely loathe the Seahawks now. But I'm glad to see that no longer-drunk Smith doing well.

Awesome comeback! Honestly would've guessed 4-6 sacks on the season for him. I feel dumb.

Who would have thought Aldon Smith would be outplaying Dee Ford? If the 49ers signed Smith for cheap, and didn't trade and pay a boatload for Ford they could have signed some players that play.

We sadly burned that bridge with Aldon when we cut him in favor of our 2 bit former QB.

Or better yet, what does Kap think of Aldon?
"For Christ sakes, the guy has assault charges, domestic violence charges, drunk, arrested a few times, etc.....and I'M the one out of the league and can't get back in?" lol

Aldon was such a talent, it was brutal when we had to part ways due to his incredibly bad behavior, mostly gross immaturity. It was the right decision but you hate to see a talent like that just fall into the gutter. Fortunately he somehow met up with a guy who either runs a gym or something of that sort and worked with Aldon for several yrs. By then Aldon had gotten rid of most of his demons, and was fairly on the straight and narrow. Then some months back, the guy calls McCarthy (Who knew him) and tells him he needs to come out and see a prospect. McCarthy did and gave Aldon a chance, which he obviously has done well at.
To me, I'm just glad he got sober, found somebody who helped him return to the real world, and now he is doing well. It kind of highlites what happens when these young kids, fresh with tons of money, but not much experience in the real world...end up as. And that was Aldon. Natural athlete, who has again gotten it all together, and i am just happy he got straight and got his life together. Also kudos to McCarthy for coming out here to see him. Finally, hats off to the guy who brot Aldon back. We get to see him again, just not as a 49er. I will root for him right up until we play Dallas. That day no, but rest of time, you bet.
