There must be more to this story. Peters is a head case but he was playing very well this season.

There is a reason the Chiefs let him go even when their secondary was a huge question mark.

What about Brandin Cooks? He was also dumped by two teams before he got through his rookie contracts.

The reality is the Rams are done based on their salary cap situation. They have many players becoming FA after this season and they can't keep most of them. They have decided they aren't paying Marcus Peters. Kenny Young is still early in his rookie deal, that is why the Rams wants him.

Cooks was traded for high draft capital both times. Peters just got dumped for a scrub and a bag of chips.

And if they do? Can he play o-line?

Can he play QB?

Peters is also terrible in a CB1 role. He needs to be CB2 with safety help to make up for his "ball hawk" style. He'll get that in Baltimore with ET over the top and two CBs ahead of him (Humphrey and Smith when healthy).

He will want to be paid as a top CB and he just isn't worth it.

Especially considering who they got in return. It was a straight swap for Kenny Young. I had no idea who he was so I looked at PFF and he has a 53.1 grade hasn't made a tackle in the past 2 games.

The Ravens dont give much help to their CB's over the top. They play a lot of cover-1 man and cover 3 because they've been horrid against the run.

Not a straight swap, Rams got a 5th rounder too. Still equating to a box of dix
You could make an all pro team with a lot of HOF players on it out of the guys that have been traded from team to team because they are either a pain in the ass or asking for too much money. On top of that you have all the guys that have been banned or suspended several times. What a waste of talent. It's a shame that so many gifted athletes care only about themselves.

The reality of how much they overpaid Goff start in next year is starting to slap them in the face. No more cheap rookie contract. Now they actually have to balance the roster.

I mean we all saw this coming, they were all-in the past yr, almost got a SB. They have Goff/Gurley/Donald eating up like $75M of their cap space next yr

They have to start drafting better

Yeah, the signs were there this off season when they couldn't keep guys like Saffold or Joyner. After Sunday I'm sure hindsight says they should have traded Peters earlier and kept Saffold.

Now they have Whitworth and Fowler off contract. Neither have really produced to their pay grade this year, but it's not a simple thing to just go out and replace those guys.

Like you said, they have to draft better because LT and DE are prime positions they can't afford to pay for. Draft or bust.
And this is why you don't sign every big named FA left and right. And that's why I commend Lynch for being so patient despite us fans wanting immediate success.
It just happened Ramsey to the Rams.

For two 1sts and change!
Told you...Ramsey to the Rams
Having a guy like Paraag is a real plus when you're trying to not only build a team but keep it together. He has to be one of the best in the league at doing team friendly contracts so you don't get stuck with a boat anchor. Not sure how he manages to convince the agents to sign these deals.
