Blame Aldon and RayMac...they forced our hand to avoid spending high draft picks on players with character concerns this past year.
And blame Peters for getting himself kicked off of his team.

Baalke saw it. He was all over Peters in the offseason. I'm sure Jed was in his ear about the character concerns

I wanted peters as well but if he played on the Niners he would've been burned even more than he was on Kansas City. I would still want him over Brock though and maybe he can cover the second best receiver like he's doing on Kansas City. Pretty easy assignments hopefully with no pass rush on the Niners he wouldn't be benched.

DB is a tough position to step into as a Day 1 starter and most have some struggles. But Peter's is the real deal. Dynamic play-maker and physical force who should only get better and be amongst the best for years for years to come. Would he have had struggles with the Niners? Yes. Would he have made fantastic plays at key moments? No doubt. No comparison to any DB on the Niners current roster. None. This kid has Hall of Fame potential.

I don't think that DB is the toughest position to step as a day 1 starter. Most QBs must adapt to a pro scheme and read defenses that are way better than college defenses. 20 year old DL and OL must face players in the peak of their athleticism. And there is a reason why almost every TE struggles in their rookie season.

Even gets picks in the pro bowl while AA is eating Cinnabons at the mall.
