Marcus Peters Thread

I would much rather go after Rashaan Melvin. Had an equivalent year to Peters this past season but without the drama.
Peters is a stud. Kansas City would be idiotic to get rid of him.

I agree, however, despite the cap gains from the Smith trade, the Chiefs are still in a salary cap bind. If they can get 2 or more starting-grade players for Peters they may go for it. The defense is aging and needs three quality replacements even after adding Fuller.

There is also a talk that Chris Conley will not be back. Several mocks have them going WR with 1st or 2nd round picks. They need a solid route-running WR. They can't live with only Hill and Kelce.

Lot of holes on that team. So while I'm sure they don't WANT to trade him, if some team who is just a quality CB away from a deep playoff run wants to offer a big package, the Chiefs may go to full re-build mode for a year.

No, I don't like it. We have already used up our own 2nd on Jimmy G, I don't want to lose any more picks which we will need in order to move up and down. For example, what if we need to move further up in the 2nd round to get Ateman?

Go ahead and sign a free agent corner by all means, but just don't trade for one.
We missed on him once, are we really going to miss on a chance to get him again? I'd offer up a couple picks and throw in AA

I want some of what this guy is smoking.

First of all, if the Bills give us 21 and 22 for pick 9/10, I'll take it in a heartbeat. 21, 22 AND THEN some? Easy choice.

And a late first round pick for Peters on THAT contract?

This isn't happening lol. Bills would have to be desperate to draft a QB. KC would have to be desperate to liquidate Peters.

I don't think either party is desperate to do either of these respective things.

The QB needy teams will be desperate this year. 21 and 22 for # 9 is a fair deal.

And we aren't just trading for Peters. We are trading for Peters who will demand a top CB contract. Probably more than Washington gave Norman at 75 mil a year. No way KC can give him that $$$
Imagine if we can get Marcus Peters and a pass rusher like Harold Landry this year if we trade with Buffalo.

We'd have a top 5 offense to go with a top 5 D. And 65 miĺlion to spend in FA.

Ateman or a legit Pro Bowl shut down CB?

To me there is nothing to discuss.

That is one reason they would want to trade him now. However, they get out of salary cap hell in 2019, hence they could keep him if money is the only issue.

And people thought we gave Jimmy GQ a big contract . Thought it was a record breaker, apparently nowhere close to.

Getting all butt hurt, are we? LOL.

I didn't say don't get a corner, but you don't have to trade for one, let alone the huge contract Peters will demand. There are many free agent corners to pick from, for example Malcom Butler, Brent Grimes, Trumaine Johnson, etc.

What the 9ers need to achieve is to do well in both free agency as well as the draft.

We are already in a great position given we have our FQB locked up. We can now focus on building a team around Jimmy G.

To do that, we can't afford to blow our picks away for a corner.
