It's funny you bring up Pinion. He's another dude we traded back to the end of the 5th (4 spots from the 6th round) and picked up another pick...RT Trenton Brown. A dude any of us, would have starting over Pears right now.

Corner back is one of the toughest positions to play in as a rookie and sure he'll get attacked by the opposing offenses. That is expected. I think he's handled his own.

Too bad none of these rules apply to our own player.

Can you imagine if Acker played behind their pass rush for them?

"Acker = Beast. 5 INT's and he's a 6th rounder? Steal! Baalke's dumbass went with Peters in the first and he's already given up 7 TD's. Bust. Bench him noa!"

That said, I did like Peters too.

But if we're talking hypocriticals, how many INT's does he have behind our front 7 (no pass rush) and in Mangini's scheme? 2-3?

So same as Acker and Brock.

No, I'm not. You're just apparently clueless as to how the draft played out. 49ers traded out of 15 with the Chargers for 17. The 49ers drafted Armstead at 17, Peters was taken AFTER him so the Blake Bell pick would have happened because they had the Chargers pick regardless. Not sure why I have to spell this out for you.

The hypothetical is that we don't know if a team leaps up for him. Both were available for us even with the move back but Baalke wanted a 3-4 5 tech.

Baalke finds CB's greeting at Walmart who perform very well for us even with Mangini's crazy scheme.

Is Peters really an upgrade over Acker, Brock, Johnson or Cromartie or Reaser?

No need to hate on either AA or Peters. We needed DE and they needed a CB. Done.

But I'm loving the upside of AA, Bell and let's see who we get with the Charger's pick too now. We were in rebuild...could end up with 3 nice starters with high ceilings but need time to develop.

Chief's got just Peters. More ready for action right away behind that pass rush.

Will be fun to track over the years.

They apply to our players also.

Acker looks solid and has been a pleasant surprise.

That's cool dude...rarely hear kudos from a certain crowd about our own players. Very VERY odd thing.

PS: Keep your fingers crossed that we can get a WILL pass rusher this off season. Having Lynch at SAM with Dial back at LDE collapsing the pocket for him and getting personal fouls for textbook hit and AA at RDE (pass rush) with a dominant WILL will = secondary having a field day! And right now, they are playing sound even without a pass rush despite being so young and learning a very complex scheme.

So uh...how many yards and what will Phillip Rivers passer rating be against Peters this weekend? How many TD's does Peters surrender ?

2 to raise his total to like 12 on the season.

just imagine how many more he would have on our team !
does anyone have a link on Peters yards/TDs allowed or do you need Pro Football Focus premium stats?

People gon' say stuff. Its a forum.

Baalke seems to have a knack for OlB talent. I'm more concerned about the Situation on offense. It is dire. OL, RB depth, QB need a hard look.

But back to Peters. He looks like a playmaker. I recall Patrick Peterson getting burned his rookie year also but also making plays. Now he's a studz

You want to see things like that in a rookie. Flashing game changing abilities. You just have to deal with the negatives for now. Throwing them into the fire snd let them get reps. Reid is a coach and knows that. Tomsula is too mucb of a yutZ.

Oh noes garbage time TDs lol
Peters, who has been targeted more than any cornerback in the NFL, allowed nine receptions on 14 targets for 92 yards, according to Pro Football Focus. He also had a personal foul penalty after getting in the face of Michael Crabtree after a questionable no-call on the Raiders pick play.

That was the bad. The good is that Peters came up with one of the biggest plays of the day when he picked off Derek Carr AND returned it nearly 60 yards to set the Chiefs up for a touchdown. That touchdown gave the Chiefs the lead, which they held onto for the win.

Peters is tested so often because he's a rookie and because he's so aggressive at the line of scrimmage. He has given up the second most number of touchdowns in the league (seven) but also has the most interceptions (five) among cornerbacks.

In other words, Peters has been thrown into the fire. Sure, he's made his mistakes but just watching him play it's clear that he is going to be a very good player in the league.

As I said before. You take the good with the bad and he's going to get tested because he is a rookie. This article says he's been tested the most out of any CB in the league. I wonder what the throw at/TD allowed/Int ratio is?
