Wouldn't be surprised if it was for the Rams 1st round pick since they don't have a second. Oh well, Trumaine Johnson, come on down...oh, and you too Malcom Butler

So in the near future they have to pay Donald, Gurley, Joyner, and now Peters
I'm glad we threw our name in the hat, but I'll gladly pay Johnson and keep our picks.
The fact that Reid moved on from him is crazy, there must be some sort of issue there. Matt miller said back in 2015 while speaking to a 49er executive about peters that they couldn't draft a bi-polar kid with street connections in Oakland.

lmao so yeah you are crazy. He has the most interceptions in the NFL since he's been in the league at 19. Deion Sanders at this same point only had 14.
Peters is on his way to a hall of fame career. please get yourself together lol

Peters is a guy I had hoped the 49ers would trade for. I am not sure he's an upgrade over what the Rams had previously. I do believe he will be a hell of a lot more expensive very soon though, and with Donald, Gurley, Goff and now Peters coming up, I can't see how they afford all of them and remain competitive. Imo it doesn't change the Rams a whole lot. He might be slightly better than Johnson, but imo it's marginally. Their defense goes as Donald goes and imo they are investing their resources in the wrong positions. They need to increase their PR. Their defense was already good. Maybe Peters makes them juuust a little bit better, but they already had a good pass defense so it seems like a bit of an odd decision, for the Rams defense, from my pers[ective.

Interesting that Marcus Peters was exclusively pursued by NFC West teams given that a CB of his caliber is very much a luxury in our division. There's no elite WR1 in our division that you need that caliber of CB to match up against. In our case, having a qb like Jimmy who spreads it around we'll likely just avoid throwing in his direction but not like he's gonna erase some upper echelon weapon.

This...people need to stop reading the box scores. Yes INTs are a sexy stat but in his prime Darrelle Revis had a year with 0 picks. Why? Because the other teams just flat out didn't throw in his direction.
I remember a season where Deltha O'Neal had like 10 picks. Anyone consider him a top 5 CB?
While there is merit to what u say, the ball is also thrown a lot more these days. Everyone is thrown at these days. Even the best guys get tested much more than the top guys 10-15 yrs ago. Its not as simple as player A doesnt get thrown at so he doesnt get the picks that player B gets who gets thrown at all the time. Peters get thrown at, just like everyone else, but he also makes a lot of plays too. Sure he gives up plays, but they all do. He seems to make more plays than he doesnt. Plus hes a threat to score everytime he touches it, which u cant say for a lot of other cbs.

We don't need that hothead, rather have Trumaine Johnson.

That's what many credible sources are reporting. A 1 and then some. Makes sense why we backed out. I'm guessing we offered our 2nd knowing the Rams couldn't match it and then they decided to go all in with a 1st.

Saying Peters is overrated isn't saying Peters sucks and Rams didn't add a good player.
People getting a chub off his interception numbers tell me all I need to know about them.

For the people that think Quinn will be cut
At one point, the #Chiefs were pushing to trade for DE Robert Quinn, along with a draft pick. But sounds like now it'll be just draft picks going over to KC for Marcus Peters.

oh s**t, could be. I totally forgot the rams were good this season, so it would be a late 1st. So yea, I can see that.

Yeah he has a history of getting into altercations with coaches going back to college.
