I like Trumaine Johnson but I DON'T like giving him 13 million dollars a year. And Malcolm Butler? No thanks.

The fact is there isn't another CB available near Peters ability

I already said why I'm ok with us not making the deal.

There are clearly off the field or on the field but reliability concerns with the kid or they wouldn't have traded him.

Giving up legit draft compensation in a class that has pretty good CB depth IMO is a risk we shouldn't have made. It's a good move for the Rams if it works out but where are they going to be in 2 years when they have to pay him?

Keep in mind i was never hating this trade for the Rams, my comments about Peters being overrated were related to several in this thread losing their chit because we somehow didn't make the move. It's silly.

so INTs are all that matters with a CB? IF so Sherman is trash same with Peterson.

Ok fair enough.

And for the record I'm happy we didn't give up 9 for him. If we had a pick like the Rams did at 27 then sure.

If we get Johnson/Fuller/butler I'm cool with how everything worked out. I think Solly will be a very good player for a longtime.

Also if we're going off PFF (which isn't end all be all) He isn't the best player available in FA. Robinson/Gaines/Tailb/Melvin all will likely be available and ranked higher (Melvin was tied with Peters). Fuller was 21st.

none of those guys will cost us draft picks

And I have said too that I appreciate Solly because he works his butt off and helped us turn around our historically bad run D.

And David Amerson and Gerod Holliman were the best DBs in their respective drafts.

I think we can all agree we hope that Sully works his ass off and comes back next year with the ability to rush the passer to match his ability to help vs the run as we sign and draft a bunch of stud/shutdown corners and it all works out wonderfully.

Not really. Saying Peters is not a Top 5 corner is just a flat-out lie. Not even an opinion. A lie.

I'd all have over him...it's all opinion based.

Perhaps Lynch reverts to Talib considering his perceived interest in Peters. I'd take on Talib if I was Lynch. He would come quite a bit cheaper than Peters.

What draft picks did the lambs give up?

My next door neighbor who is a huge Rams fan is upset because he's hearing theyre giving up a 1st and some other picks. He's hating the trade because he doesnt like Peters personality and that McVay is not a coach at his age he can see controlling his outbursts. He even said Wade Phillips is kind of soft too.

Let's see your top 5 list since you speak the truth...

If you polled 32 GM's, do you think they would all have Peters top 5? Chances are they would not.

It is his opinion, you do not have to agree but the top 5 is subject to opinion.
Maybe Trumaine Johnson falls on their FA lap. He can play the Rams 2 times a year with the Niners
The suspense on compensation is killing me.

If I was a Rams fan I would be upset as well. This move opens up your window to win now but pretty much will slam shut after 2 years.

The Chiefs contacted Dorsey and Ballard to see if they were interested. Both declined.
