I mean they were basically bidding vs KC not one other team was really even in it...even two teams that have GMs that were in that draft room didn't sniff at him.

If Andy Reid is cool with that compensation, that's another red flag...glad we didn't make the move.

He got traded with 2 years on his rookie contract and has played 3 years in the NFL. Pump your breaks a little.

If you can't read between the lines and see that there's clearly something wrong with the guy or there would have been 20+ teams trying to trade for him instead of just 1.

Aldon Smith was on a HOF track too...how'd that go?

If he doesn't get his life in order he's not making it long enough to get into the HOF.

Not going to pump the breaks at all. And yes, I am aware he has only played 3 seasons. But he has played those 3 seasons at a higher level than anyone who has ever played the position. Not sure why saying a player is on the Hall of Fame track is something that needs to have the breaks pumped.

And I find your comparison and anyone elses comparison to Aldon Smith to be laughable and completely off base.

Its becuase the niners didn't trade for him. Had we gotten him then he would have been a misunderstood passionate competitor.
Also, people pointing at the Browns not offering anything as evidence that Peters isnt worth it, need to understand that the Browns are an 0-16 team. While they need talent as much as anyone, is it really smart to acquire an elite player for draft picks that will be gone by the time the team is any good? Using the Browns as a barometer is not a good indication of anything.

Matt miller spoke with SF executives and they stated they could not draft him because he's bi-polar along with having connections to the Oakland streets. Placing him in SF wouldn't be an option for them.

When only one team makes an offer for a pro bowl corner still on his rookie deal, and the offer that acquires such a talent is a future 2 and a 4 this year... it sends up a huge red flag.

There is no denying there is a character issue with this kid.

Dude stop it...Doesey, Wolf, and Highsmith are three top end FO guys. They don't automatically become stupid at football because they moved to Cleveland.

"is it really smart to acquire an elite player for draft picks that will be gone by the time the team is any good" What does that even mean? Peters is 25 and still on a rookie contract. They could have him for another 3 yrs before having to even commit to a LT contract (5th yr option and tags). I guess the Browns shouldn't sign any FA because they won't be going to the SB next yr then huh?

If there's two teams that understand who Peters is it would be the Colts and Browns...neither even sniffed at him. Also it's not just the Browns but every single team in the NFL (outside of the Rams) passed on him for months reportedly. Throw in Andy Reid, who's know to be able to handle troubled players was so willing to letting him go.

There's red flags all over this kid and have been since his last yr in college. SF already threw down on their red flag talent and have to live with it.

Yup!
I know there are some who are ready to put him in the HOF after 3 years.....but the Chiefs ranked 28th in total yards allowed and 29th in passing yards allowed this past year....FWIW

Nope that's how sus rolls. Peters comes in and he'll proclaim we gave up too much lol.

Per a report from Matt Miller after he spoke to a SF executive about Peters they stated that he was bi-polar with street ties to Oakland. He wasn't an option because of this.

Throw in no other team was willing to trade for him including Dorsey or Ballard that's an issue, Also Andy Reid who's been know to handle/draft red flag players had enough and moved on from him...those are issues regardless of talent.

We already have a knucklehead in the locker room.

A two-time pro-bowler, DROTY and two-time all-pro for a 4th and next year's 2nd? I'd take that literally all day every day. Smart move by the Rams, no doubt about it.

Yeah because the Browns don't have any salary cap space to sign him...

Your choice but IMO you're high if you think the bold is true.

Where did I say anything of the sort? Has nothing to do with me saying Dorsey and co. are stupid now that they are in Cleveland. LOL. Talk about putting words in my mouth.

All I said was the Browns MAY not be in the position to trade away picks for a great player who they would probably lose before the team got any good. Your condescending question about them not signing free agents because they arent going to go to the SB next year is absurd. Signing a free agent is completely different than trading draft capital to acquire a player.
