All I said was the Browns MAY not be in the position to trade away picks for a great player who they would probably lose before the team got any good. Your condescending question about them not signing free agents because they arent going to go to the SB next year is absurd. Signing a free agent is completely different than trading draft capital to acquire a player.

You said because they're the browns they wouldn't be interested in him.

They have a million picks and money coming out their ass. They have a huge need at CB and if all they had to do was give a 4th and future 2nd to get him it's a no-brainer. BUT they didn't which leads to questions about him.

The browns have the youngest team in the league they need proven talent, just like every team.

Imo It was a horrible reach on why they wouldn't go after someone of Peters caliber unless Dorsey knows more than we do about the kid....which I would gather he does cause he drafted him

I absolutely did NOT say that. I questioned because of the fact they are an 0 and 16 team, if it would be smart to trade away draft capital for a player who likely wont be there by the time they get good. Go back and reread my post if you like. When someone uses a question mark, they are not declaring anything. You are absolutely wrong about me saying because they are the Browns, they wouldnt be interested.

It was a question, and a very legitimate one. You call my question a horrible reach, yet you making a definitive claim based on nothing other than speculation is acceptable?

Some fans can want him all they want. But fans do not have to share a locker room with him. Marcus Peters may be a great player but he is also a great headache as evidenced by his trade market.

So is the fact that only two GM's made offers for Jimmy G a huge red flag?

Only one team reportedly made an offer for Jimmy, and that was Cleveland. SF inquired if Jimmy was available but never made an offer.

We do not know if other teams inquired as it was never reported or leaked. Possible other teams chose not to try after learning Cleveland made a big time offer that was rebuffed.

You didn't answer my question, but I can't say I'm surprised.

You could literally say the same thing about Peters, your argument is extremely flawed.

He's a good player, the Rams got him for a good deal and didn't give up a lot to do it. End of story.

Only one team was willing to trade for a proven commodity and an all pro, which proves that his character issues are not minor. 97% of NFL GM's deciding not to trade for him holds far more weight than the opinion of some fans who think Lynch made a mistake. End of story.

This, thread is so hilariously short-sighted. If Lynch made this move everyone in NT would be raving about it. It's like it's almost impossible to give a division rival any credit whatsoever for making their team better.

Same dudes gonna be talmbout "damn, wish we traded and landed peters in that trade" when he shuts down half of the field for Jimmy G. Lord please dont let jimmy g get intercepted by peters, its gonna be a wrap

Only it was reported that the Rams were the only team to offer them a trade...bill shut down trade talks on Jimmy G this time last yr (shanahan even stated it) they then called SF to deal him, they didn't want to send him anywhere else period. Teams didn't even think he was available.

The fact that you're even trying to put the two players in the same category is silly, one guy plays the top position in all of sports and was loved by his team (no red flags) and another guy while talented has multiple red flags issues and no one was willing to offer a trade.

Good luck Rams, dude is gonna hold out this time next yr.

A 4th this year and a 2nd next year. WOW!

I am surprised. The Chiefs need a lot of help, especially on defense. I thought they would at least get the 2nd this year.

It is looking more and more like they are going into full re-build mode and this was the best they could get for a guy that was definitely not in their future plans.

Rams outsmarted Lynch and Co. take the L Niner Empire, Peters will haunt us the rest of his career for Baalke picking Armsdead over him

From some reports, it seems that BB let some teams know they were not going to allowed into the derby.

Why wouldn't he be there in three yrs? They have money, 5th yr option, plus tags... technically they could control his rights for 4 more yrs (two tags)

Sorry if I misunderstood your comment but that's how I read it..my bad.

Imo Every single team in the league could use a player to the caliber of peters and the fact no other team even made a play is kinda crazy...if you don't feel like it's a red flag on him that's fine

Rams didn't have a 2nd and no other teams were trying to up the price

Hahaha, Snead must have outsmarted the whole league then cause they were the only ones who even tried to trade for him.

Not surprising in this thread, still the same posters trying to defend Baalke's huge f**k-up instead of just accepting that the trade a rival made was good value for a relatively-maligned player who requested a trade after the Titans game and clearly wasn't happy in Kansas City.

I didn't realize that. However, the fact that future draft picks are not as valuable as current ones only further devalues Peters' value while deepening character concerns.
