4th this yr and 2nd next yr

KC also gave Rams a 2018 6th

So effectually, it's a 2018 4th-6th swap, and a 2019 2nd to KC.

Winnar winnar chicken dinner.

Is that because 31 other teams didn't make an offer ?

It's because Bill Belichick told 30 other teams to f**k off.

Not necessarily. If all he had to do was pick up the phone, listen to the offer, take a few minutes, and say yes, then I'd say sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

If Haley was playing in today's game he would have been out of league...different time period.

Dude all I've argued with you is that he's got red flags and I've proved multiple examples. Good young player that a team didn't want, kicked out of college, NO teams wanted him in trade talks etc...

TBH, we don't have much on which to judge because these kinds of players just do not get traded very often. When is the last time any non-QB was traded while playing at a Pro Bowl-plus level?

As multiple pro observers, nor fans, have noted, this was a very surprising move by KC.

Why is it a surprise move by KC? Its clear they wanted him out of there. Whats so hard to understand? Peters is top notch talent, but dude has been kicked out football in college for having arguments and disputes with coaches and it looks like it tranferred over into the NFL. As good a coach McVay is, i hope he can control Peters.

Because, on the surface, Peters would NEVER have been traded from a team with a defense that became a sieve last year. That in itself is a surprise. That they would get so little is surprising.

Ok i see what you're saying, but the fact they let him go for so little should be a concern in itself. I mean the Chiefs were probably so sick of his antics that they just wanted him out of there and wouldve probably traded him for a bag of chips despite all the talent. His history is not a good look. I wouldn't be surprised if he's on a fourth team before he even reaches his 30's.

I like Peters and all. But the surprise some of you have regarding the trade compensation is a little curious. This has always been the case for non-QBs. There are...maybe...5 non-QBs in the NFL that would get a 1st round pick in a trade. And, obviously, there is a reason those guys are never made available.

Peters is not elite on the open market simply due to the massive amount of risk a team takes on bringing him in. You don't have to agree with it for that to be true.

Non-QBs rarely, if ever, go for 1st round picks straight up. Also, while Peters is great -- some dudes are seriously overestimating his market worth.

Most of this is false. Elite CBs are never traded. The only reason the compensation is as low as it is is because of the off the field issues and that's all there is to it.

A player is worth whatever a team is willing to pay for him. In this case i my own team pursued the trade. Without the off the field issues, there are numerous suitors, thus driving up the price. Supply and demand.

This.

If it was Lynch that made the move, Niners fans would be ecstatic.

Huge trade for the Rams.

Darrell Revis made 3 1st team All pro teams in his 1st 4 years. Speaking of Revis. Can you imagine how hyped the Bucs fans were when they traded for 28 year old Revis? You know the Jets fans were absolutely devastated.
