What was the NFL's reason for the color rush Thursday night games?

I mean, we all know it's a ploy to sell more alternative jerseys, but what guise did they portray it under?

I'm very old school with jerseys, but these are genuinely terrible imo. Regardless of tradition.

Jersey designs since the mid-2000s or so (circa 2002 Seattle, Buffalo, Atlanta, 2006 Minnesota) have been on a downward trend.

if the 49ers do, hopefully its an actual gold and doesn't just look like someone threw up all over the jerseys lol
