What is the thinking on that?

multiple future picks were more valuable than any 2021 picks to them. it's been said this draft class is really hard to evaluate properly. they can cut Goff after one year and it'll only cost them $15M

Yeah I guess Solomon Thomas, Rueben Foster and Mike McGlinchey are studs and we really needed Javon Kinlaw.

Oh and Nick Bosa has had ACL´s in his 2 knees.

The Rams don't need 1st round picks because A) They don't draft well in the 1st round and B) They aren't valuable because they will be picks in the high 20's. Therefore, we can trade them.

Welcome to the world of logical fallacies.

But what happens when AD is 33. Stafford is 36. Woods is 32. Kupp is 31. Ramsey is 29. And you are about to make your first 1st round pick in 8 years?

So much this.
The Rams are managed very poor. They sell first rounders again? Salary cap anyone? Just teams in rebuilding mode are able to give away first round picks because they got plenty of cap space usually.
powerhouse teams have to pay a lot of salary sooner or later, therefore they need replacement. Missing out on first round talent, even if it is late first, can set teams back for years.

Their GM is in panic mode.

I just hope our GM and coach get in panic mode for Deshaun Watson. Assuming on our team we would probably get that bye week almost every year or at least have 10 or more wins with Watson, our first round picks are going to be in the high 20s if not 30's.

So I'm sure they realize that, I just don't know if they have the balls to do it. Now that our whole division got better, it's about time we match them on some of their moves. After all, watching teams in our division get Hopkins Ramsey Stafford adams....Although they may not be the best moves for the future, it currently helps them out so much and will continue to help them out at the expense of younger cheaper talent.

I feel the Texans will be more willing to move Watson to the NFC. I have a feeling Washington and Carolina will outbid us because our front office always loses out bidding wars. This is one time it would be worth it to overpay

I hope they die sooner rather than later.

I understand the plus side of getting a known quantity whereas the draft is somewhat of a crapshoot, especially with QBs. The other more important side of the coin is sustaining your roster in the salary cap era. Long term success is building through the draft to get some superstars on rookie deals to mix with proven vets. Sooner or later, the Rams will be unable to keep their players or if one gets injured their depth will soley consist of late round/UDFA players.
McVay going to lose the players' trust in him. Dropped Gurley. Then Goff. Who's next?
