Watching them struggle against Detroit was very laughable. Like I said, their defense is severely overrated. They have two great players and after that not much at all. They are so lucky that Donald and Ramsey never ever get injured or they would be in deep s**t defensively. We picked a very great year to be injured up the ass, like always.
The Rams' D is definitely overrated. They'll get exposed more as the year goes on. Niners play them three games from now...MNF, and hopefully the Niners can play better ball leading up to that game. Having back T. Williams, Kittle and hopefully Greenlaw will help.
They don't need to have a great defense. Chiefs won the SB with an average defense and basically relied on not even a handful of players to play at an elite level. When you have a couple elite players at certain positions, its easy to mask some of your issues on defense, and those guys make big plays when the games on the line.
The year the chiefs won the SB they had 3 elite players on D at their positions. Chris Jones was only second to Aaron Donald, Frank Clark was wrecking offensive lines and Mathieu was everywhere. Jones was a major reason they won that game and so was Mathieu. Most defenses don't have 3 players like that on D and the chiefs D was top 10 when we played them.
But yeah, if you have a great offense like GB or Seattle you can mask the defenses short comings. Hopefully Trey can do that soon. He did have by far the best debut out of any of the rookie qbs against the best team in the league without Kittle and Mostert (and Trent Williams for some time) so I give Trey a win vs the Cards. If that's his floor, we are looking better at the qb position going forward
