I knew it was only a matter of time for a joke like that.

Rams are now suffering the fallout from never caring about the cap. They did get a SB out of it but now it's time to pay for it. Enjoy the basement for the next 10 years.

Well worth it though I gotta say. Honestly, I wouldn't be mad if the 9ers won a Super Bowl then went through this.

So you were a happy fan in the Dennis Erickson years because of what happened in 94?

I would be. The whole talk of we only want to win Super Bowls, but being okay with massive suckage for years afterwards doesn't sit right with me.

After 30 years I just want a SB. I'll take the SB and some years of massive suck over no SB and years of massive heartbreak

As do we all. I'll take a more sustainable approach however. We'll see if we actually do win one. It won't be clear which approach is best until the McVay and Shanahan tenures are over. Luckily for us, they don't seem poised to win another for some time.
Jalen Ramsay is thrilled he doesn't have to tackle Deebo anymore. Interestingly enough he still is playing for a coach on the tree.
damn for a 3rd and 3rd string TE? lol

Salary dump.

I remember being so pissed when the Rams signed Stafford. In hindsight would you rather be the Rams with superbowl win, Stafford on that ridiculous contract and those extremely constraining cap numbers, especially in light of his recent injury history, or be in the 49ers with no SB win, no Stafford, and the expectation of contention?

I'd rather have that ring right now.
stafford contract going to destroy the lambs future. no one in LA even cared they won...when they go back to losing they will become as irrelevant as the chargers.
every single game home game they play is an away game. one of the least popular franchises in all of sports.

I wouldn't. We have past Lombardi's. I love the expectation of ongoing successes.

True about past Lombardi's but its been almost 30 years since we've won it all. The expectation of success with no results to prove those expectations the past 30 years IMO is getting tiresome. Hence why I rather have the ring right now.

Yup I'll take a ring you can dead cap hit me for the next few years 100+m I don't care; we will survive it. The ring endures.

You don't seem to be surviving the last ring too well, so that theory is flawed. As much as I want to win, I like actually enjoying the 49ers again, weekly. The idea of saying well at least we won a ring in 2021 isn't going to cut it for me after the first year.

Furthermore, I can't fathom how watching football could ever be fun with that kind of mindset. Most teams will never win and the small amount that do, it still doesn't occur with any regularity. I don't think Bucs fans give a rats a$$ about 2020 at this point and will be ready to fire their coach after one more bad season.
