Inside pressure is the hardest to deal with and the quick release won't mean a thing if there secondary is shutting us down ....if we rely only quick forced passes we will get picked off like crazy without a doubt we need to draft Nelson if they sign suh I don't want one of those guys hurting our franchise qb

Hate to give the Rams any credit but I am concerned. They were already more talented across the board then we are and while HC/OC might be a wash or up for debate as for who is better their Defensive Coordinator is better than ours. Now they have seriously upgraded their defense and seem to not be done. Challenging the Rams for the division was going to be tough already but it has gotten much tougher. They are playing serious hardball. Anyone else worried about how our O-line is going to hold up against their pass rush? Or how our current receiver corps is going to attack that upgraded secondary? And our current defense hasn't gotten any better at getting to Goff yet (hope the draft improves this situation greatly)
Competing in the NFL for that next level starts with being competitive in your own division. I know that the Rams are going all in now while we are looking at a window that is only just opening. But I certainly hope that Lynch and Shanahan are looking down to SoCal and trying to determine how they are going to attack this team at least twice next year.

Agreed. Let's be honest, LA's window is also just opening. That is a problem. Who knows what's going to happen when it comes time to renew Jimmy G, but it isn't looking promising right now when compared to LA.

Bring on the Rams - looking forward to our Niners competing with them going forward. I know they have some advantages at certain positions over the Niners at this point in time; however, at the most important position, I'd take Jimmy G. any day over Goff (that's not a knock against Goff, though - he looked good last year - but more on how I feel about Garoppolo as a QB). The Niners almost beat them twice last year...lost to them by two points in that first shootout with Hoyer at QB.

Agree with your take about last year. My concern is that they are working aggressively to get better in the offseason. However with the exception of Jimmy G (which admittedly all by himself is a MASSIVE upgrade across the board) we haven't done a lot to upgrade our team. I am particularly concerned about their defense.

I think as far as coaching we are well ahead of them and next year I feel our offense will be better then there's by a strong margin but then there defense will be better then ours at this point but we could end up fixing that in the draft and putting our bidding defense at the top 10 position this year or not but regardless I say the rams at this moment are the better team in the division because of the defense but we are not that far awayOriginally posted by Ninersrisin:Hate to give the Rams any credit but I am concerned. I said $15 million for Sue. I was close. I'm glad this deal went down. Only further proof the Rams know how good Jimmy G is. I can't wait until their "Dream Team" doesn't win a ring and all is for not. Go get OBJ while you're at it. I could seriously give two f**ks. We have the best player at the most important position. Deal with it LA!

We'll see. I think they'll be very good next season but you never know. The 2011 Eagles were a lock to win the Super Bowl until the season was actually played.

Rams throwing down the gauntlet. Spotrac has their cap space at $28.5 MM, for their top 51 and rookie deals, before Suh's contract. So they are down to $14.5 MM, if I read the numbers correctly.

Just announced on NFL network, the Rams will have over $100 MM in cap space next year. How in the hell can that be?
