This rams team is filled with so many different kinds of locker room cancers it very well could repeat those eagles....

That's the huge risk with that team.

A city that has a tough media, a young HC even though he found early success, a qb that had a good season but still needs to prove it, and hotheads like peters and talib combined with a dirty player in suh. If that team loses even 2 games in a row, that locker room could get heated.

Just imagine if they start 0-2....

Na, how bout homers stay in NT and dont click on other forum sections, if all they want is talk about the 9ers. Or maybe use the hide posts tab. Save us all the trouble of you being so sick.
So many extreme reactionary blowouts in here.

It's actually OK to applaud what the Rams did here. Their FO saw an opportunity and took advantage of every one of them. After years of top 10 picks, an excellent HC who runs the same scheme we do, a top flight veteran DC, they are ready go compete for a Superbowl so they added as much talent as possible. Do these moves guarantee anything? Hell no...it's football... anything can happen...but you can applaud a FO that did everything they could to add more veteran talent to a young team.

I'm sure if this was flipped, this fan base would be stoked and thinking division and playoffs.

On the other side of the table, we can be happy where we're at and what our FO did this off season. They stayed true to their plan in year 2 of this rebuild.

Like last year, they want to get the youth as many snaps as possible to develop and see what they got. They'll let Cooper, Garnett, Tomlinson and a rookie compete at G. They'll bring in a young CB to compete. Same with WR and LB. They resigned current young players who proved themselves in our system last year. They locked up a FQB. They added more young weapons with upside and who fit our schemes.

If this draft goes well and the youth make big improvements in their leap years, we'll be just a few pieces away from serious contention...to which OUR FO can be more aggressive, like the Rams. And then it's on.

Two teams at two different places in their respective rebuilds. I applaud both FO's this year.

i think people can give credit to another team for improving themselves and not have to be slapped with some juvenile label. i could ask you if the rams are supposed to be scared of cooper eli ward and bourne but i will refrain

Kinda crazy how some people bash others in here.

Some people have a loser's mentality and that is what it is.
Man, if we had signed Suh, the zone would be like: "Greater front 4 than Steel Curtain!"

He does suck. I agree. Am going to enjoy them giving him a $20M+/year deal.

Never once did a team say "oh crap we have to play Jared Goff next week??"

Exactly. Rams had much more talent in place than the 49ers did. Next season we will be making these kinds of moves.

Yup yup!

Obviously, I would have loved adding Andrew Norwell and Allen Robinson to the team...that would have ended up being great counter moves to what the Rams happened to have added later (really good outside CB's and interior pressure) but mostly because those kinds of talents rarely hit the FA market esp. at that age.

It sounds like we pursued Robinson but not Norwell. I'm OK with that.

After those two...big drops to Sitton and ?

Stay the course.

2019 FA could also have some better options than Norwell and Robinson.
Don't worry for all you guys freaking out about what the Rams are doing I'll fix that.

Going to draft Gurley, Goff and the Rams D in every FF league I'm in.

Les Snead is a top 3 GM in this league IMO. What he's doing is brilliant, not a single one of these acquisitions have technically been a FA signing. So not only have they arguably improved their team the most so far this off season but they're also projected to get two 3rd round and one 7th round compensatory picks next year. And if they don't resign Suh after this season they'll more than likely get another 3rd for him leaving. Ya in a couple years they'll have to replace some players like Talib, Whitworth, Woods, Barron, Saffold and Austin because they'll make too much and/or be too old but having to much talent isn't usually a problem.

I'm sorry but no GM is considered top 3 when they give Tavon Austin the contract the Rams gave him.

Not to mention he was handed a friggin gift by the Skins due to the RG3 trade which was basically #6 overall, #22 overall and #2 overall picks which they moved around for other picks to receive the following(copy/paste from article covering the trade)

Michael Brockers (good defensive tackle)
Janoris Jenkins (signed by Giants in free agency)
Isaiah Pead (lost part of leg in car crash)
Rokevious Watkins (no longer on team)
Alec Ogletree (good linebacker)
Stedman Bailey (involved in scary off-field incident)
Zac Stacy (no longer on team)
Greg Robinson (benched this year)

The only guy still on the team 6 years later is Brockers and they pretty much pushed him to the bench with the Suh signing.

So what? Bottom line he's assembled one of the most talented teams in the league. Not to mention one of the youngest. While also drafting the current Off. Poy, Def. Poy. and franchise QB.
Along with
Trumaine Johnson
Janoris Jenkins
Johnny Hekker
Brockers
Ogletree
TJ McDonald
Aaron Donald
Lamarcus Joyer
EJ Gaines
Todd Gurley
Havenstein
Goff
Kupp
John Johnson

And
Suh
Peters
Talib
Whitworth
Barron
Woods
Roby-Coleman
All while still being (for now) top 10 in cap space and extra draft picks in the next couple of years.

Not sure if I agree with this. Our acquisitions last year have already put us in as a playoff contender and possible Superbowl appearance. The days of the 2-year, even 3-year rebuild is gone. 3 win teams are making the playoffs the following year almost every year.

I think in this era, the rebuild on how fast you can get back to the playoffs depends more on coach, player attitude, and commitment than anything. I just don't see Suh and Talib as very committed players.
