The New York Giants have received several trade offers for receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and are listening, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

The Los Angeles Rams have made their first-round pick - No. 23 overall - available for such a deal, according to NFLN's Steve Wyche.

More to come.

Where are they getting all this money? Cuz they'll need to pay OBD even if its for a year.

cause they don't have to pay gurley, goff, donald yet.

It seems weird that they are going all in now but it's understandable - new city, somewhat fickle fans, and a $5 billion project in the works that will need to sell some seats/PSLs.

We are in Year 2 of a six year project. We will be competitive this year but the pressure is on LA, not us. They have a two year window and then will need to pay Donald, Gurley, Goff, Peters, Suh and all the rest. If nothing else it'll be fun to watch.

Six years? No way. Two years should be plenty in this day and age and no coach has lasted more than four seasons under the Yorks.
With all that cap space they should be competitive in 2018 and serious contenders in 2019.

This right here
Lol
6 years! Wow..if your not playoffs by year 3, somethings wrong with your "plan".

Not directed to you WOO, But I'm not getting the solution to the rams defense at all?

Just run to the outside! Lol

Cause Wade Phillips, a SB winning DC didn't think of that!

I think a big solution to beat the Rams would be to beef up our defense..

Prevent them from scoring.

Then, may the best offensive gameplan win!

Offense:
I am hoping that Shanahan sees more in McKinnon than I do and JG is as good as what we saw last year. Upgrading C will help but I think they need a stud G as well.

Defense:
Hope Sherman can come back from injury, get a pass rusher and hope Foster is not lost for more than 2 games. That Rams O is scary.

It's actually OK to applaud what the Rams did here. Their FO saw an opportunity and took advantage of every one of them. After years of top 10 picks, an excellent HC who runs the same scheme we do, a top flight veteran DC, they are ready go compete for a Superbowl so they added as much talent as possible. Do these moves guarantee anything? Hell no...it's football... anything can happen...but you can applaud a FO that did everything they could to add more veteran talent to a young team.

I'm sure if this was flipped, this fan base would be stoked and thinking division and playoffs.

On the other side of the table, we can be happy where we're at and what our FO did this off season. They stayed true to their plan in year 2 of this rebuild.

Like last year, they want to get the youth as many snaps as possible to develop and see what they got. They'll let Cooper, Garnett, Tomlinson and a rookie compete at G. They'll bring in a young CB to compete. Same with WR and LB. They resigned current young players who proved themselves in our system last year. They locked up a FQB. They added more young weapons with upside and who fit our schemes.

If this draft goes well and the youth make big improvements in their leap years, we'll be just a few pieces away from serious contention...to which OUR FO can be more aggressive, like the Rams. And then it's on.

Two teams at two different places in their respective rebuilds. I applaud both FO's this year.

Not sure if I agree with this. Our acquisitions last year have already put us in as a playoff contender and possible Superbowl appearance. The days of the 2-year, even 3-year rebuild is gone. 3 win teams are making the playoffs the following year almost every year.

I think in this era, the rebuild on how fast you can get back to the playoffs depends more on coach, player attitude, and commitment than anything. I just don't see Suh and Talib as very committed players.

Agree, The draft, free agency, and trades have made every NFL team equal to pretty much every other NFL team. Not much separates each from the other. But you can see how a Franchise QB changes things. I think that's one thing the NFL can't ever equalize, because Franchise Qb's can't be spread out to the rest of the 32 NFL teams.
Lol this thread is poppin now. Will eclipse the seahawks thread in no time

Yes...
"Hopeful" is a massive step up from how I felt the past three years.
It seems pretty obvious the Rams are going for it this season...Suh will make the 3rd player they've signed/traded for that has major skills, but also plenty of baggage (the other two being Peters & Talib). Trying to buy a championship backfires as much or more as it succeeds...so, we'll see. Whether the Rams signed Suh or not, Lynch is determined to strengthen our interior OL. Richburg and Cooper are a good start & I'm confident JL will add to that in the draft.

Can't really make an assessment on what the Niners are doing until the draft but, it looks like Lynch is making slow and deliberate moves (remember he and Shanny have 6 year contracts) to get back to prominence. I'm with it (Niners in NFCC game THIS year, not hardly) because it means not only is this an accession to the top but, to stay on top. My concern with Suh is that he is a dirty player and when JG starts to rip his team apart, Suh will take it upon himself to try and stop him with a cheap shot.

Yeah, it's my concern too. A guy with that kind of attitude, that attitude might infect the whole team and a good portion of the team starts playing dirty. I hope not.

I worry about it too, but the rams have been pretty dirty for a while as it is. Jeff Fisher would be proud of this signing lol

I thought about including QB but purposefully did not because a QB is not needed to have playoff success as much as it used to be. A FQB is definitely needed if teams want to have long term playoff runs but not for a successful year or two. Look at PHI, JAX, MIN, LAR, TEN, KC, ...these teams were able to do it with average to slightly above average QB's or backups even.

That's why I think the key ingredients for a 3-win team to turn it around in a year are coaching, player commitment, and player attitude.

Looks like the Rams are turning into the Seahawks. Sh-t talking fans that came out of nowhere (ramsondemand.com), dipsh-t players with attitude problems (Talib, Peters and Suh) and they are going to be a force. The only thing they are missing is an @sshole coach (McVay seems likeable, Pete Carroll is such a scumbag).
I wouldn't be as concerned with their acquisitions on defense if wade philipos wasnt their DC. Wade with talent is a scary ass sight.

Idk. McVay is becoming unlike able. Not exactly sure why and I probably don't have a logical explanation.
