The Rams are projected to have $100 million in cap space in 2019, with ONLY 36 players under contract. Once you factor in the 5 year option for Peters and Gurley and some other factors that number reduces to about $70 million.

If ShanaLynch continue to build this team the right way, the 49ers can catch the Rams.
