Very odd. I think they realized they can't lose a first round draft pick and not sign the guy like they jacked up the Watkins trade last year(not a first but still)

Unfortunately I'm sure McVay will find great ways to use Cooks but I would absolutely LOVE to see this backfire in a big way. Another Tavon Austin contract :D

Of course Cooks is much more proven and is a talented player. We'll see if Goff can get him the ball. As someone who watched Cooks a lot on the Pats last year he was certainly not worth that contract. Obviously he doesn't have to get the ball to make an impact with a playcaller like Sean so his money may not reflect in stat production for himself.

But if Goff struggles to hit him deep or if Cooks gets the drops again in key moments...i will enjoy that

LOL. Aaron donald gotta be pissed Rams are dumb as s**t. This could backfire big time. What's the best case scenario? You traded a 1st round pick for a WR and gave him 14.5 million a year, he better give you career seasons for that. How many times does that happen? Meanwhile homegrown defensive player of the year can't get paid.

No sweat, dude is kinda frail, he'll get banged up all year long (beginning in training camp) and never get back to norm...

It blows my mind that they are throwing around all this money to other players, and Donald is sitting there like . Man I hope this blows up in their faces.

Cooks may not even lead the team in targets with Woods and Kupp already established with Goff. seems like a lot of money.

i think they will cause some issues by not extending more important guys on the d line with his move. this guy was not worth the money but what do i know

The chatter amongst Niner, Hawk and Cards fans is that the Rams locker room is set-up for just oh so much horribleness this season. Including the comments above.

Anyone want to wager on whether or not this is true? Is Rams locker room going to be a liability to them this season?

but more times than not, there are issues. Not saying it will happen, but the odds are not in your favor

Heard the NFL was canceling the season and declaring the Rams champs....no use in playing any games this year.....

If they do decide to play games this year stats will be -

Goff - 7,854 yds, 61 TDs 0 INTs
Gurley - 3,579 yds rushing 72 TDs 2873 yds receiving
Cooks - 219 RECs 3792 yds 34 TDs - Scores at least one 2 TDs on every imaginable route a WR can run as he is that complete of a WR

Defense - no one scores.....at all....opposing offenses never get past their own 35
Donald - 45 sacks
Suh - 37 sacks
Talib - 44 Ints
Peters - 43 Ints - 27 for TDs

McVay is inducted into the HOF after this year and the Lombardi trophy is changed to the Phillips Trophy

Idk about it happening necessarily this season, but going forward if it remains the same there is potential for disaster within that room.

They will always be the same old sorry ass Rams to me
