This isn't a computer game. You don't start dismantling your team during the construction and particularly not by dumping your best players.

Some posts crack me up. I would consider QW a huge success if he plays up to DeFo's level. People act like QW is gonna walk in and challange Donald for best interior guy in the league. It's possible but I consider it more likely QW never reaches DeFo's level with how often first round picks disappoint.

Ok where is the YOU DONT JUST WALK INTO TOWN AND TAKE DEFOREST BUCKNER'S JOB?
I would see Williams more as insurance in case Buckner leaves when his contract is up. I would love to keep him but you never know what kind of money he will want. Will they sign him or franchise him? If they franchise him they would surely get a first round pick if another team signed him. Drafting Williams if you aren't sure of Bosa or if Bosa is gone is fine with me.

To save yourself some money, do not make a bet on that happening.

Theres no way they let Buck walk. This franchise has shown they're not afraid to make a player the highest paid in history. I.E. Patrick Willis, Jimmy G.

I've watched QW all year. Hes good but he also had a lot of good players around him. Not saying he wont be a monster, but saying hes gonna come in and push DeFo out of the #2 interior lineman spot would be surprising to me.

I see him being similar to Marcel Dareus when he came out and was balling out for the Bill's. Very, very good, but still not quite DeFo level.

FWIW Marcel was drafted #3 overall.

I wouldn't think so either but you never know when agents get involved. We have all seen great players, even icons get traded or released from teams. I doubt that Steeler fans ever thought that they would let Brown go or the Giants with Beckham. Nothing is written in stone in pro sports. What if he and his agent don't like the 'team friendly' contract that will probably be offered. I'm just saying that Q would be good insurance and would allow them to let AA go away.

Well said. Looking forward to the day they extend Buckner - hopefully during this offseason.

The best part about QW is he's a natural NT so we wouldn't have to get rid of Buckner but okay lol
Let Buckner walk!? Man, put the crack pipe down...
Trade DeFo? You outta your god damn mind.

It's not like this team is hurting for cap space.
If John Lynch trades Buckner or makes a move that lessens his impact in any way, he should be fired immediately.
Buckner is the best player on the team.

This team needs to fill holes with a top pick, not add depth and insurance.
