Will they sign him or franchise him? If they franchise him they would surely get a first round pick if another team signed him. Drafting Williams if you aren't sure of Bosa or if Bosa is gone is fine with me.

This team needs to fill holes with a top pick, not add depth and insurance.

I don't see Williams as just insurance. He could push AA out of the starting spot or just rotate him in and out but it would be nice to have him just in case Buckner leaves. I actually think they will make a good offer for Buckner and he will stay. I prefer Bosa or Allen with the first pick but if it is Williams I'm not going to spend the next year b***hing about the pick.

The best part about QW is he's a natural NT so we wouldn't have to get rid of Buckner but okay lol

Agree wouldn't "have to" get rid of him I'm sure buck/qw could coexist. It's just QW will be better than Buckner, and Thomas/Jones alongside QW will also be very good.

QW/ST/Jones inside
Subtract looming massive contract extension
Add plane ticket for buckener and 1st round draft pick maybe more

Sustainable success is not easy to achieve in the nfl, it takes courage and creativity and 2019 isn't ready for these kind of moves but I have a strange feeling lynch is ahead of his time and may have this whole scenario white boarded as we speak. Just a guess tho.

Pdizo let's be clear here it's not webzone, I think I'm on this island alone my friend

QW will not likely be better than Buckner.

This may be true but some people on here want trent taylor and ronald blair gone, which i think would be a huge mistake
With or without any top 10 front 7 pick, DeFo going to wreck some OL's this year.

The biggest opportunity for improvement is to lock up DeFo long term so we dont lose one of the best interior lineman in all of the NFL.

Yea he was a very good player and for that we are grateful. Very good player on a very bad team, and we are unwavering in our desire to become a great team..this front office has made it clear that they are always looking to upgrade every position on the roster and is willing to make the bold move when the opportunity is right. Your my boy buck! But you gotta go.

Welcome to my block list. I'm forever grateful to whoever finally implemented this feature so that we don't have to waste our time reading "hot takes" like this.

Why does he have to go?

Trading your best player away and creating a huge hole that has to be filled is a dumb way to try to become good.

Lol right. We should just trade Kittle, mcglinchey, and all the up and coming players on the roster away while we are at it.

I will be surprised if Buckner's extension even matches Dee Ford money. Probably in his best interest to wait a year. Right now he would be effectively asking the team to waive multiple years of manageable, projectable salary.

They may give him a Twitter contract of $100M+ so his agent can get the hype he wants. But I will be surprised if it's $87M in real money.

If I was Buckner I'd take the risk of injury and wait a year.
