So true and just wait until Bosa and Dee are there to draw doubles. Buckner could go ballistic. In the end it depends on how a player is viewed by the other players. Some guys just stand out more than others even though they may not be as good. Call it charisma or whatever. If Buckner has a 10 year productive career where he makes a couple of pro bowls you can call him elite, just good or ignore him. He won't care because he'll know and so will the players around the league that he was very good. Except for a few prima donnas like some of the receivers , most players don't really care how they are viewed by the public. They care more about how other players view them.

I like DEFO, but lets be honest, his sacks have been pretty meaningless.

Forget about sacks. There is no doubt he impacts the game. The next step in his evolution though are "game changing plays." That could the time it happens in the game or the degree to which he causes trouble ( sack/fumble).

Throwing out an injured riddled clowney to prove a point is nonsense. Kid hasn't been healthy to justify being called a top 5 talent at his position, NOW if he could have been healthy I don't doubt he'd have the stats (and paycheck) to be a bona fide superstar.

That legendary season gets pushed down to a solid one if we do that (20.5 sacks to 12.5)

I gif'ed all the 2018 sacks I thought were high quality where he beat his blocker quickly to notch the sack (page 361). I like differentiating between high quality sacks and cleanup sacks where the DLman is a beneficiary of someone else's QB pressure/good coverage/unblocked/bad QBing. Boxscores are simplistic and only tell you "how many", but not "how", so that's why I did that.

Agreed. Those 12 sacks, were because of him, he is so disruptive, he is a game changer on defense IMO.
