He had almost 1100 yards in only 12 games last year -- with Eli at QB. Entered the NFL with 3 consecutive seasons of 1300+ yards and 10+ TDs. He was injured one year lol, and that year he was again on pace for 1300+ yards and 10+ TDs again before he got hurt so, yeah. Dude is a superstar without question.

Julio puts up an absurd amount of yards, no question, but doesn't score as much. OBJ in 59 games has 44 TDs (Ratio of 3 TD for every 4 games). Julio has 51 over 111 games (Roughly 1.8 TDs every 4 games).

I don't think stats alone make a 'Superstar". A lot depends on public perception. Remember that old Andre Agassi commercial for Canon where the slogan was 'IMAGE IS EVERTHING'. It's really true when it comes to this issue. You listed some lineman in an earlier post and out of that bunch I would say Warren Sapp was the only one who might have been considered a superstar. Not because he was better than the other guys but he was more well known among the general public whether it was because he was more outspoken or colorful or because he came from Miami. Stats count but look at a great receiver like Larry Fitzgerald who has played his entire career in relative obscurity. If he had been playing for NE or the Giants where all the attention is focused, he would be a huge superstar. Instead the average Joe has probably never heard of him.

This happens a lot on the forum. In this case someone referred to Buckner as an elite player and it morphed into 'what is a superstar'. It's easy to lose site of what the original thread was. Probably should have been it's own thread.
