Grady Jarrett singlehandidly wrecked our entire IOL. Clowney wrecked our entire OL.

Buckner has been absent all year. There's no way he should be getting $18-20M going forward. He just doesn't seem to have that ability. He's a really good player though.

I'm way more nervous about giving Buckner $18M. Good player. But he has consistently disappeared for stretches throughout his career.

I get that he has earned a lot of cred on this site because he was a bright spot during our dark days, and he's an awesome dude. But there is a reason he is the 3rd best DL on this team...doesn't get top tier Pro Bowl votes and other NFL players don't consider him elite.

He deserves to be here for a long time. But a premium price for a non-premium player is tough.
Oh please!

Cloweny hasn't done s**t outside of that game this yr. Jarrett is good and had a quality game. He's not doing that every week either.

Buck has been a very good DT this yr. He's been solid as he always has been. NO player outside of the QB is worth $18-$20M per yr if you want to get technical about it

BUCK is getting the double teams, not Armstead.

Buckner is a fine player does a lot of the dirty work. Just because we lost a game we should have won doesn't mean he's not a good player. You guys are overreacting.

right lol...people do realize these Pro-bowl votes are from the fans??

Buck doesn't have the 10 sacks like AA. He does a lot of the dirty work. There's a ton of times where if not for Bosa/AA, he'd be the guy getting the sack/TFL.

Buck gets double-teamed every play. The problem is when DJ Jones comes out, we don't have anyone else inside that can wreak havoc internally. Day is just not that good. Thomas is undersized and most times ineffective. We need another DT who can rotate with Jones. We've played Jones more this year because he's a good player, but the downside is that he's also injured more often. We need another player there and I'd be willing to replace Day. If Buck is occupying the double, someone else needs to beat their 1-1 matchup. We can't expect Bosa to do that every time.

Ford's speed was an instant disrupter along with Bosa meant that both tackles had to worry.

People keep saying this, but this is simply not true. Yes, he gets doubled...sometimes. Armstead also gets doubled. Same with Bosa.

Not seeing anyone doubled like Buck.

Its about his ABILITY to step up when needed. Grady does it. Clowney can do it when healthy. Can Buckner? If so then he should be talked about in the highest of DL tier contracts after Donald. But right now, he's not playing there and IMHO, 'may' not have that ability.

Both Clowney and Jarrett are having better years than Buck. Not that Buck isn't a great player but putting both those players down cause they haven't dominated other teams like they dominated us yet Buck hasn't had a single game like that this year. Your letting your homer show.

Armstead gets doubled also at times

Every player on our DL gets doubled. It has nothing to do with the player but the play call and blocking and pass protection assignments. Nobody is scheming two OL to block Buckner on every down.

Buckner simply does not get the double teams people think he does. Yes, he sometimes gets doubled. Just like AA and Bosa.

What's so incredible about Armstead is his ability to remain consistent against double and single blockers. A revelation.

Buck gets double teamed approximately 59% of his snaps. With a win rate just below 8%. For comparison we will go Matt Ioannidis who is double teamed approxately 65% of the time with a win rate around 12%. If you're wondering who Matt Ioannidis is that is the point.
