IMO, Grady Jarrett is only second to Aaron Donald as the best interior DL in the league.

Waiting for him to make a single play so they can run in here and say "SEEEEE!". As if a single great play, or single elite game would offset criticism based on sustainability of elite play.

Hey I think he's great. He isn't a household name either. That's my point. DTs overall don't get the love the deserve outside of their own fan bases, unless they get gaudy sack stats like Donald.

We might as well just say DT overall aren't SUPERSTARS. Outside of Donald who get's gaudy sacks numbers, no real DT get's the superstar label among all of NFL fans.

Maybe Jarrett, Donald and Jones are the only superstars at DT.

One guy that doesn't get enough love that should is Cameron Heyward. BUT again they're DTs and unless you get like 20 sacks you're never gonna be labeled a "superstar" by the masses.

Agreed on Heyward 100%. With Jones who is the most double teamed DT to still be posting up the numbers he has and beating double teams at the rate he has is crazy. Not Donald crazy but really really good. I hate to sound like I'm bashing Buckner cause I'm not I think he is a really good player but I don't think we need to break the bank to keep him. If he wants Fletcher Cox money he can walk imo.

Buckner is a sensible dude. There's no doubt he wants to stay close Hawaii with his family there, so I bet he'll simply want to be fairly compensated. I don't expect him to go crazy with demands.

zero chance SF lets him walk at all. Honestly I don't think any player outside of QB is worth $100M (what Cox got). Buck get's double all the time. they've put up similar stats as well. Buck has 18.5 sacks, 24 TFL, 32 QB hits Jones has 22 sacks, 25TFL, and 46 QB hits the past two seasons …I'll add that's with teams forced to throw the ball all day vs KC. both are damn good

YOU must have been missing some of my posts...

I DID posted that I would not give him (AA) 18 to 20 million a year and also posted how happy I am that he's having a great season.. .but this season alone does not make him THE player YOU envisioned him to be coming out of the draft...
