still waiting for you to say AA doesn't suck and isn't soft. You've been preaching that for yrs. oops
We might as well just say DT overall aren't SUPERSTARS. Outside of Donald who get's gaudy sacks numbers, no real DT get's the superstar label among all of NFL fans.
YOU must have been missing some of my posts...
I DID posted that I would not give him (AA) 18 to 20 million a year and also posted how happy I am that he's having a great season.. .but this season alone does not make him THE player YOU envisioned him to be coming out of the draft...
back to Bucko, DO YOU STILL THINK HE'S A SUPERSTAR??
It is undeniable. Dude is a superstar by all measures.

I NEVER envisioned him as some stud...I wasn't a fan of the pick SO like always you're barking up the wrong tree. YOU went on a rant for yrs about him being soft calling him Baby Huey or some s**t.
I don't think any DT not named Donald is truly a superstar. They don't get the huge sack numbers that people get hard over, in here.

There is no stat that supports this.
My eyes don't lie. They know who Buckner is and he's accounted for every play. He's a phenomenal player. Sometimes he runs himself last a run, but that's a small issue imo. And yes it's illy to compare anyone to Donald. He's a beast and may single handidly destroy our game next week lol.
Buckner's poor vs. the run and would realistically be a situational pass rusher 12 years ago.

He was the reason the 49ers were dominant against the run last year.

Just curious, whats so significant about 12 years ago?
I wouldn't call him "poor" against the run, but he's certainly not elite. For an inside guy, I feel like he gets taken out of plays. I know they played different schemes, but I wouldn't consider him any better than Ray McDonald in his prime. As a 3-4 lineman, he would have to deal with double teams too, but still made plays and was dominant vs the run.

don't get me wrong, Bucko is good, but he aint a SUPERSTAR... not yet at least.. but if he does ask for Donald type of money, heck I'd open the door to any team that would give us 2 first rounders..
Dude you keep saying this and it's totally wrong. I NEVER did cartwheels over AA. I actually had us getting Devante Parker in my mock (which turned out bad but I can admit it). You gotta stop with that nonsense.
I DID do cartwheels over drafting DeFo...he is without question a superstar and a top 5 DT. If he had been a FA, Buck would have been the 2nd highest paid DT in football. He just turned 25, has elite size/strength, and can handle the riggers of playing inside.
Quit being silly.
really NYniner85 ???
You never considered him a SUPERSTAR??

How can a player be a "superstar" when:
1) Nobody outside of the Bay knows who he is, and
2) Current players don't regularly mention (or vote for) him when it counts, and
3) There is clearly an undeniable level of players above him in quality at his position
I get that fans want to use dramatic adjectives when playing up their favorite players. I suppose that's why we're "fanatics". But let's pump the breaks.

It all depends on how you define "superstar" -- to some, superstar means Top 5 at their position. In this case, among pure DTs, Buckner fits that description. Votes don't always mean that much. We say it every year. Popularity often doesn't match production. Buck has outproduced Fletcher Cox and Grady Jarrett back to back years, but has only been named a Pro Bowl alternate both times. Buckner continues to be 2nd to only Aaron Donald in combined production over the last two seasons among pure DTs, but when you're losing games (2018) or guys like Bosa are getting all the media attention (2019), it's easy for people to overlook you.
So, all that said, I'm honestly not surprised at all that both our fans and people around the league overlook Buckner.

I did and still do BUT he will never truly be called a superstar because he plays a position for the most part never has one. Donald is the only dude you could realistically call a "superstar" and he had to get 20 sacks to do it.
and LOL with this trash comment.....

holy s**t were you wrong on so many levels there! ONE I never wanted to draft AA (but understood why they did) in the first place and two Gordon lol?

the definition of "superstar" is different to everyone...same s**t as someone calling a draft prospect "generational" every yr

If you have been paying any close attention, the guy gets doubled all the time.
