I may be mistaken, but isn't there too much of a penalty for cutting McKinnon or was that the case this year and we can wipe our hands during the offseason?

If we cut him. It counts as 4 million. If we keep him, then it's 8.5 million against the cap.

I wonder if he prefers to be on the 100 players.. or be on the 2nd Team All Pro?

Is this a serious question?

From a defensive end position, Buckner got the lone sack against Seattle. I'd like to see Saleh put Buckner on the end as a matter of course on passing downs, at least in the next game.

I really would like to see different pass rushing combos next season. We have the guys. Why not use them? Definitely put Buckner at end and some AA/Thomas/Street at 3T. I'm really fascinated by what we do going forward now that we have our knockout punch (Ford/Buckner/AA/Bosa) established.

I just don't see 8.5 million worth of production if he's fully healthy. The extra 4 million is like keeping Ward who will give us that value in production if he is healthy.

Ya, especially considering the value Shanahan gets out of no-name guys. The hire doesn't really make sense, unless he really thought McKinnon was a McCafferey / Leveon Bell type.

Mckinnon didnt get a chance to show us what he could do in this offense. Though out current 3 RBs are studs.
I hope Buckner starts dominating in the playoffs, opposing teams got 99 problems and buck is one of em.

This is so true. Kyle provides us the advantage of not having to draft high end offensive players. We are the only team in the league with no first rounder at QB RB TE FB WR yet we have 13 players with Td catches. Kyle is an absolute stud. We could just keep drafting DLine forever in the first round and Kyle will just keep producing on offence. It's a magical formula that no other team in the nfl currently has.

Belichick has only drafted one offensive player in the first round that made the pro bowl and that was Gronk. He doesn't spend a lot on receivers , backs or O linemen. He was a defensive coach most of his career so that may have something to do with it.

Gronk was a 2nd rd pick but point stands, Walsh was mostly the same and thought coaching offense and drafting defense was the way forward. You get the biggest baddest dudes to play D and scheme the O
Last year, he beasted out and no one noticed. This year, he half assed it and he finally gets recognition. Smh.

BUT Belichick also didn't care about those picks to make the Pro Bowls.. he was more interested on them RINGS !!!

Yup been talking to AB on the twitters...They can get much much more and resign/extend whomever they want.

And does that even take into account how much the cap will increase. That probably will add a few extra million. Add in cutting Mckinnon and they should have more than enough

What happened to AB on here ?

People made fun of him over his his dying dog and some difficulties he was going through.

Very true I'm just sick of our interior ol being average in pass pro. We better draft a g/c in the first or if we trade down with our first pick. One can usually get one of the best guards or especially centers with the 32nd pick

Mike/Kyle Shanahan have more a an MO of picking up Gs in the mid rounds or UDFAs...
Really would like to see Buck show up in the playoffs. Very average season. Good not great player this year.
