Always better to regret you did than to regret you didn't.

The niners have spent a lot of 1st and 2nd round picks on interior lineman over the last decade, and didn't get much out of them: Rachel, Smiley, Baas, Iupati, Martin....
We got quite a bit just for a minute there potty and Davis with staley we were running on motherf**kers well that is done and we had to retool I like the strap so far. We got our meat n potatoes now we can start drafting for the more exciting position

Everyone blasted the Cowboys for taking Zak Martin so high a few years ago. He's one of the best in the game. I am thrilled with this pick. Mostly because i always wanted Kaep to stay an compete. Very happy our oline was once a thing of great pride. It will be again

LOL wut. Baalke doesn't like long-armed, giant DL's and physical gritty linemen....are you new here?
This draft so far shows that Baalke and Kelly are very much on the same page.

Garnett is the best interior run-blocker in the class. He has a massive and well-proportioned frame with an excellent inline power base. Garnett improved his overall balance in 2015, and he has the ability to drive and steer defenders off the ball when he is able to gain quality initial positioning. He has improved his awareness and pass protection and his longer arms for a guard help him keep rushers at bay. He should immediately add depth on the interior offensive line and quickly develop into a starter, ideally for a power-man blocking scheme. -- Kevin Weidl
How he fits: Offensive guard is a need for the 49ers, and Garnett is the top offensive guard on our board. He's a physical run-blocker who should help improve a ground game that finished 21st in the league in rushing yards per game last year. It's also interesting that he took part in one of the better battles we saw on tape when he faced off against DeForest Buckner last year. However, this is too early for him to come off the board in our estimation. -- Steve Muench

Even if we won the SB, he would find something bad to say, he likes his raiders and wants nothing but bad things for the niners.

Then why did they trade? Oh, right, we gave them the rest of our draft.
We gave them a 4th rounder. BFD. We still have a comp 4th rounder.... and three picks in round 5
To get the best interior OL in the country last year ahead of Arizona and Seattle (who were both thinking OL) is worth it.
Why don't we have a 2nd rounder anymore?
Move from 37(I think) to 28, for most likely day 1 starter. I'll take it.

The Hacks took a very similar player in the kid from TAMU.
I have been a harsh critic of Baalke in the past, but he was aggressive tonight and got two players that should be starters next season. Thats a good thing. I have reservations about moving up for Garnett, but not Garnett the player. Or maybe Im just upset that Baalke didn't move up a few picks earlier and take Doctson. I actually like the players Baalke drafted tonight. Sounds weird to say. I really DGAF what these analysts say about Garnett. He is a beast run blocker and fills a major need.
