I was nervous this pick was going to be Connor Cook. I'm happy with this pick.

Baalke also hates paying a lot for guards. By moving back to 1st we can get a 5 yr deal on him.

the o line. no matte rthe position was a glaring area of need. team has some confidence in trent brown as this was not a tackle ? i understand how badly we treat our players and give them headaches but that is the way i see it anyway

IF Kiper doesn't like the pick, it was the right pick.

LOL wut. Baalke doesn't like long-armed, giant DL's and physical gritty linemen....are you new here?
This draft so far shows that Baalke and Kelly are very much on the same page.
I'll give you that but its obvious these are Chip Kelley players which is great recruited Garnett in high school and also Buckner

i agree.. i was always hoping we would go d line and o line with the first two picks and then qb. but who knows maybe there is another d line guy or linebacker we love in round three which will put off the qb till four?

Not a sexy pick. But if you guys don't remember, our OL sucked both in pass pro and the run game. We need help on OL.
Seattle needs all the help they can get also.

we have a great o line coach and he was chosen for a reason.. maybe we are going to be more smash mouth than what some people think
Chip likes to run the ball a lot. remember LeSean McCoy's 2013 season? averaged 20 carries a game and had 1600+

HOLY $#!T!!!! I am a die hard Stanford fan, and that video did it for me.
I like the pick, and not just because he's from my favorite college team.
We drafted arguably the best defensive lineman and arguably the best guard today.
People are criticizing what we gave up, but we swapped a 6th for a 7th, and our 2nd for their 1st. That said, we truly "only" gave up a 4th round pick for a player that can start day-1.
I love this move.

Then why did they trade? Oh, right, we gave them the rest of our draft.
We gave them a 4th rounder. BFD. We still have a comp 4th rounder.... and three picks in round 5
To get the best interior OL in the country last year ahead of Arizona and Seattle (who were both thinking OL) is worth it.
Why don't we have a 2nd rounder anymore?
Move from 37(I think) to 28, for most likely day 1 starter. I'll take it.
Yeah, at least we still have plenty of low round picks.

We traded up from 37 (our 2nd rounder) to 28 (the Chiefs 1st rounder). The cost of those 9 spots in draft position was a 4th round pick (plus exchanging our 6th for the Chiefs 7th).
