Kiper hates the pick, actually. Keeps saying he was his #67 ranked pick. Everybody else seems to like the pick, though, that I've seen.

Just watched him say it was a good pick...guess I could have misheard, but in their wrap up...

It hunk his biggest problem with it was that he had him ranked 67th, and not that he is a bad player. And since Arizona and Seattle are both reported to have wanted him, it makes it a great pick. He'll start from day 1. I'm good with it.
Anyone know which 6th round pick we gave up. We had 2 that were tradable.
OMG this kid is a MONSTER. LOL. Straight up mauler. I never really paid him much mind, knew he was solid but holy crap. And he is a human biology major so I'm sure he is a very smart kid. If we get him and Trent Brown both at a level where wer can start both, our run game is going to be nasty AF!

Why do I always get myself excited for the draft. Balke NEVER picks the players I wish for. Myles Jack sitting there on a platter and we take a guard!!!

Jack is damaged goods!!!

With our 2nd pick - not very bright.
Now lets get a big OT, an ILB, OLB, QB, Center. If we can get these players we will have had a satisfying draft at least for me.

Love this pick we gave up nothing considering how many picks we have...move up for the players you want! Two day one starters can't hate on that

Well stated

With all the picks we have - this was a VERY smart move.
I love how the logic of paying Iupati 8 million a year for five years is better than paying Josh Garnett 8 million over 5 years.

We need a G more than we need to have Jack sitting on the bench this year. We can no longer afford those types of picks, our roster isn't strong enough.

Best G in the draft AND it screws the Hawks. Genius!

You can't underestimate the importance of contracts also. By moving into the 1st round they've also bought (with a 4th round draft pick) a 5th year team option on the guy. If you believe he's going to be (really) good, this is valuable.

Everyone blasted the Cowboys for taking Zak Martin so high a few years ago. He's one of the best in the game. I am thrilled with this pick. Mostly because i always wanted Kaep to stay an compete. Very happy our oline was once a thing of great pride. It will be again

This move along with Paxton Lynch in Denver probably assured Kaep stays!!
If you've been on this forum for any length of time, you'll find no matter who Baalke drafts, some fans just won't like it, no matter what. I'm stoked about both Buckner and Garnett...Baalke's beefing up the trenches for Kelly and that's a winning draft so far, IMHO. I don't see how any Niner fans shouldn't love that, but some just won't.

Its great that the coach and the GM seem to be working pretty well together. Armstead is a Baalke wet dream being a 4-tech, with how tall and long he is, Kelly recruited and coached him.

Garnett is a mauler of a run blocker, similar to other OL's that Baalke has drafted, was recruited by Kelly when he was at Oregon and is mobile enough to fit in his zone blocking scheme, especially the inside zone run game.

The knock on Garnett was as a pass blocker his junior year, but he improved greatly last year. Hope he has good vision so we don't see LBs running right by his shoulder for sacks! Goodbye Devey!

HOLY $#!T!!!! I am a die hard Stanford fan, and that video did it for me.

I like the pick, and not just because he's from my favorite college team.

We drafted arguably the best defensive lineman and arguably the best guard today.

People are criticizing what we gave up, but we swapped a 6th for a 7th, and our 2nd for their 1st. That said, we truly "only" gave up a 4th round pick for a player that can start day-1.

I love this move.

AGREEEEED!!!!!

This reminds me when they traded up for Anthony Davis. He wasn't supposed to be selected so high bu they did it anyways and in between picks Earl Thomas was selected.

I am not saying I don't like the pick, just don't see the reason to trade up with Whitehair available.

You trade up to screw seattle back for screwing us on the denver trade for kap.

They effectively made us stick with a guy who they know cant beat their team by doing that.

A little revenge while addressing a need is perfect.

We don't HAVE to stick with Kaep. It would be optimal if we did stick with him, but we don't have to. As far as Kaep not being able to beat Seattle, I don't think that's a reasonable thing to say seeing as how football is a team game. If Kaep is stays in SF, Chip will turn back the hands of time and have Kaep looking like 2012-2013 Kaep.
