Baldinger is full of s**t.

Now lets get a big OT, an ILB, OLB, QB, Center. If we can get these players we will have had a satisfying draft at least for me.

look for Rees Odhiambo or Derrell Green as later round OT's we had in for visits, along with the guys we have to ,solve, the OT delima.. Our O-Line IS fixed!!

Anyone know which 6th round pick we gave up. We had 2 that were tradable.

Our highest 4th and highest 6th.... what bums me out about this move is it ruins the climax of the next 2 days as we will now not be picking in top 32 picks of either day. I liked Garnett, just didn't see the value with Whitehair still available and a guaranteed impact player of more overall value will fall to our original 2nd.

Two impact players and now we build depth and hope for a diamond in the rough.

Trust me, I am one of the harshest on our FO but this is a great start to this draft.

We needed to get tougher, and boy did we get tougher today!

Agree and good call!

Best guard and best DE in draft !!, stop with the sour grapes people!! give Baalke his due tonight!

So far, so good. Need to still crush the rest of the draft.
That and he gets the best run blocking guard in the draft and 5 years of control(first rounders have the 5th year option). Great move IMO

Goodbye Devey!

lets keep him through camp at least and let him absorb the pounding of our new young defense

As Chip said at his presser, these guys get to compete for a starting job. If Devey plays better for Kelly and wins the starting job, so be it! I was just being a bit snarky!
I'd rather have 4 players in this draft in the first 2-3 rounds than 12 out of which 6 will be cut within the first 2 years. Trade again to get jack and we are set. Might not need another played.

At the start of this draft we all knew we needed starters well now we have tWo. Let us see how the rest of the drAft works out. But if we can land at least two more starters preferably three well then this is a success with B but if we can land at least two more starters preferably three well then this is a successful draft

Expecting to land 5 immediate starters in one draft is just not even in the realm of being realistic.

See flashbacks of that last Stanford lineman we had. That p***y named Martin.

Lol nope. He went to USC.

Lol yep. He went to stanford.

Jonathan Martin, whom I'm pretty sure BadgerHawk is referring to, went to Stanford.

Marcus Martin went to USC, and I think that is who shmuck is thinking of.

I can also help with the whole "Pam, Pan" thing if you want.

Lol that is definitely it.
no i do not believe you. You thought jonathan martin played at USC under john harbaugh and led the way for reggie bush and lendale white.

Landed 2 starters which is a plus.
I'm happy. Finally fixing the terrible OL.
Yeah, Phoenix, but he wasn't born that way...he had to earn it. And his stellar inside info on Chip....unhhhh, off a tad.
  • Perfect fit for Kelly's scheme (remember, we have specialty coaches for power and zone now); inside zones require power and Josh can do both (pull, screens, move-block, etc.)!
  • Absolutely screws Seattle!
  • Best G in the draft and got better and better in PP; just getting started; nasty but very smart too
  • Gives us a 5th year option
  • MD ranked him 28th...went 28th
  • Both Baalke and Chip are having beers together tonight and are BFF's
  • Add massive competition at the other G spot in Beadles/Tiller/Thomas/Martin
  • Essentially gave up a 4th to move up 12 spots (swapped 6th and 7th)
  • He ensured I was 2 for 2 on my mock
Garnett is a terrific talent. Two issues for me on the negative side: Not sure we needed to move up to pick him up; and, we have a new LG in Zane Beadles who has never played RG. We have a new rookie OL who has never played RG. Can't play with two left guards, so I am not sure how this works.
Bucky brooks on nfl network said he was the worst pick of the first and he would have been there at 37. Ouch
