You will have to go to war when you play the Niners. I like that identity with these two additions

Ha. No DOUBT, Seattle would have taken him on that same line of thinking after trading back.

Jonathan Martin, whom I'm pretty sure BadgerHawk is referring to, went to Stanford.

Marcus Martin went to USC, and I think that is who shmuck is thinking of.

I can also help with the whole "Pam, Pan" thing if you want.

Lol that is definitely it.
no i do not believe you. You thought jonathan martin played at USC under john harbaugh and led the way for reggie bush and lendale white.

Are you dumb?? He obviously played under JIM Harbaugh at USC and his running back was Kobe Bryant.

I don't know. I'm sure Seattle, Cleveland, or St. Louis would have picked O line before us

Also what is the likelihood brown plays guard?

Staley, garnett, ?????, Brown, Davis.

That could be a mean line.

Zane is going to start left side period. He was all pro in zone blocking.
No issue with that, i would also like brown as a swing tackle with some guard ability.

I really like the oline right now. I love it if anthony davis legitimately wants to come back.

Garnett is a terrific talent. Two issues for me on the negative side: Not sure we needed to move up to pick him up; and, we have a new LG in Zane Beadles who has never played RG. We have a new rookie OL who has never played RG. Can't play with two left guards, so I am not sure how this works.

Simple. Beadles is a backup. I wasnt thrilled with his signing anyway. now he is just cheap insurance.

Hopefully A Davis gets his head out of his butt and files for reinstatement so we have a decent RT as well. Then the deficiency at RG wont be as bad

I'd rather have 4 players in this draft in the first 2-3 rounds than 12 out of which 6 will be cut within the first 2 years. Trade again to get jack and we are set. Might not need another played.

Yes Sir!

As long as we get elite impact players.

At the start of this draft we all knew we needed starters well now we have tWo. Let us see how the rest of the drAft works out. But if we can land at least two more starters preferably three well then this is a success with B but if we can land at least two more starters preferably three well then this is a successful draft

Expecting to land 5 immediate starters in one draft is just not even in the realm of being realistic.

Agreed The Bucs were recently quoted as being a little suprised they got 4 starters last year and were an awful team with holes all over their roster.

maybe - maybe not.

what difference does it make if holes are filled and the lines are improved?

slowly but surely getting back towards the identity we had during the contender years, strong in the trenches on both sides

I think it's pretty obvious that Beadles will go to LG and Garnett to RG. If Garnett or Brown flames out, then we weren't competing in 2016 anyways. But they can't be worse than Pears/Devey/Thomas.

If you've been on this forum for any length of time, you'll find no matter who Baalke drafts, some fans just won't like it, no matter what. I'm stoked about both Buckner and Garnett...Baalke's beefing up the trenches for Kelly and that's a winning draft so far, IMHO. I don't see how any Niner fans shouldn't love that, but some just won't.

I don't love it, but don't hate it. Was really high on the Buckner pick, but we are such a talent strapped team and can't afford to reach on a player like Garnett at arguably one of the bottom 2 impact positions in football (excluding ST).... between what we did in FA and the fact that we don't pick again until round 3 it's pretty pathetic how few "impact" skill players we have. No better than CLE in that area but atleast they have a ton of draft capital.

How can you say bottom 2 impact positions. Look at last year. No good OL means running game suffers as well as passing game. If the OL gets pushed back into the QB it leads to sacks, int or at the very least pressures leading to incompletion. If we can't run, play action becoms nada. Now the line hopefully becomes more stable than last year with Zane (an upgrade over Boone) and Garnett along with hopefully a healthy Kilgore. Add Staley and hopes that Brown has a breakout year. Brown must doing good in TC that they went with OG instead of OT.

I realize some people like a sexy pick as it makes them FEEL- but sexy does not mean substance.
Garnett is a Beast! I bet Seattle was gonna take him and he fills an immediate need. Day 1 starter. Trent is actually moving the needle a little bit. By little bit I mean basically it stopped (sorry, I have not been happy with his decision making the last 2.5 years) Lets do some things! We are already a very young team. Quality over quantity,
