Recall in the off-season, Benton said Garnett was in the mix to start potentially over Person. No one else has played well enough in games to have anything of the like said about them. He has to stay healthy. The talent did show up last year when he had a chance to play. Just gotta stay on the field. Like the other poster did the other day, I am praying Garnett can safely make it through the season and have a positive impact for us.

I'm hoping that our starting OL against KC is Staley-Tomlinson-Person-Garnett-McGlinchey this time. No reason Garland or Toran should EVER be on the field with the starting unit with Person and Garnett healthy.

I like Wesley Johnson over Garland. Reynolds over Toran. Toran isn't even PS worthy IMO

Agreed. I understand we gave him guaranteed money thinking he'd be okay -- but he's been awful in BOTH practices and games. Dude is just pocketing this cash either way. Can't justify him being on the field when he's been outplayed in every way. They bet that guaranteed money on him, and lost. Have to admit it and move on. Johnson over Garland all day.

I agree.
If only this guy was a good guard, our interior wouldn't be looking so bad.

I wish we would have brought back Mike Iupati
When is he gonna start practicing again
Garnett and Bosa should only practice 1on1 at 25% effort. Each operate on the same battery that burns out after 2-3 weeks of intense effort.

Iupati would be a horrible fit in the zone blocking scheme

I wish Garnett wasnt as important to us as he is. If he can be an average guard and stay healthy it REALLY helps our line. If not then we gotta roll out those no name 5th stringers as our backups and its gonna be a frustrating season.

seems like all we do is talk about who we do not need... in my opinion we sure as hell need someone better than what we have with the guards , may have to include the center in that one to

That sounds like a step up from the pickled pig's feet from a week ago. Sounds like he's making strides.

Heck yeah, no longer preserved and marinated, he's ready to be thrown into the grill...
