This is what I am thinking, plus the Seahawks could have used line help as well. They must have thought someone wanted Garnett.Originally posted by blm7754:I like that Baalke was willing to trade up to get a player they like. Arizona needs OL help too. They very well could have been targeting Garnett.
Not a sexy pick. But if you guys don't remember, our OL sucked both in pass pro and the run game. We need help on OL.

5-year contract is also a great point.
Yea I'm a believer in having that 5th yr option especially if this dude balls outta control

That's what I was thinking. We might've just taken away their "guy".

i think it was a good move. I think the seahawks were aiming for garnett and we snuck up on them. They were probably thinking garnett would be there anyways. I love it! especially since part of the reason they made the trade with the broncos was so that it would kill the kap trade

The 49ers draft Joshua Garnett at No. 28 and No. 249 (seventh) in exchange for No. 37 (second), No. 105 (fourth) and No. 178 (sixth).

This not a bad value for what we gave up. He is considered the best guard in the draft. I would have liked Jack our line needs help though.
