He was the lone bright spot on defense.

Warms my heart to hear Ronald Blair getting loved up during this game. He's a stud.
Good to see some support from outside the organization. Draft day I heard a lot of the same and he really did jump off the page in the game.

we gotta find ways to get him on the field this year, he doesn't have 3-4 DE size, but he does have natural playmaking ability

Good showing. Looks like a violent mofo.

Guys like this is how you get back to drafting well and rebuilding a roster. Gotta hit on some of these late picks.

I think he could play inside on 3rd downs. The kid can shoot some gaps.

The "Game Experience" will accelerate his growth as a potential impact player.

I'm going on record and saying Ronald Blair was a steal of this draft, can't believe he lasted to round 5.

Any one got some clips of him during the game? I'd like to rewatch some of his plays.

we can have him in the 3 - 4 Elephant (Dean/Haley) type of a pass rusher... he can either stand up or rush as a down lineman..

They had a nice camera view on his almost-sack

Bellore got beat bad there. I do like Smiths ability to push the pocket back though. And obviously Blair is awesome.

No lie, AB. It had to be the Appalachian state thing. Too small to give scouts an idea what he could do against the big Univ guys. But Trent obviously liked what they saw.
We also had a kid from Miss Valley State....WR, but it was hard to deny those smooth routes, the great hands, the fantastic fakes....and then the acceleration once he caught the ball. Didn't matter if he was from a lesser conference school. That stuff just stood out. Not a lot of guys saw that either.
Gotta give Trent credit as Blair was an unbelieveable 5th Rd pick.
I just hope they don't have him back in pass pro....leave him unchained, just a rocket up the middle or around the end....heck make him an elephant. But i like what he is doing now. Just don't ruin him by asking him to defend a receiver.

Baalke can draft the hell out of defense, but can't do worth a damn on offensive skill positionsOriginally posted by pasodoc9er:Originally posted by AB81Rules:I'm going on record and saying Ronald Blair was a steal of this draft, can't believe he lasted to round 5.
