Give him top 5-10 picks like most other teams having success with skill positions and he will be great. See cooper Watkins Julio jones and so on
He drafts very good rbs and solid OL

What you think Hyde sucks? Dude was the best RB in that class. I thought Hunter was a fine 3rd down RB injuries happen but the talent is there.

Baalke talked about moving up for OBJ and Julio...we just haven't invested in the position, which can be just as bad especially with that past couple monster WR drafts that have happened. But yes I agree top playmakers get drafted early more than not.

No lie, AB. It had to be the Appalachian state thing. Too small to give scouts an idea what he could do against the big Univ guys. But Trent obviously liked what they saw.
We also had a kid from Miss Valley State....WR, but it was hard to deny those smooth routes, the great hands, the fantastic fakes....and then the acceleration once he caught the ball. Didn't matter if he was from a lesser conference school. That stuff just stood out. Not a lot of guys saw that either.
Gotta give Trent credit as Blair was an unbelieveable 5th Rd pick.
I just hope they don't have him back in pass pro....leave him unchained, just a rocket up the middle or around the end....heck make him an elephant. But i like what he is doing now. Just don't ruin him by asking him to defend a receiver.
I remember McCay going nuts that no one had drafted Blair until the 5th...finally SF made the call and you could tell he was blown away that he lasted until then

Devonta Freeman begs to differ.
And I didn't say Hyde sucks. But saying he drafts very good rbs as in plural. I don't know about that.
Trey Millard, Marcus Lattimore, Lamichael James, and Kelvin Taylor are the Rbs drafted since Hunter besides Hyde. Sooooo..
And talent was there doesn't mean anything if it doesn't work out. I'm not going to credit him for Marcus Lattimore even though Lattimore was talented.
I love Hyde. I wanted Jeremy Hill. But I'm not gonna say baalke drafts "very good rbs"

After week 7 good look at Freeman's rushing stats. Not one single game above 100 yards and avg like 3 ypc.
You forgot to add Davis who looked pretty solid last preseason game as well Two of those RBs you mentioned are 7th and 6th rd pick what were you expecting? Latt was a comp pick when we had like 13 picks that yr so I get taking a chance on an amazing college RB. LMJ was a bust.
We will see who has the better year this season Hyde, Freeman, or Hill...my money is on Hyde.

Your clearly forgetting Bruce Miller.

millard was a fb, competition for miller, lattimore was a risk but baalke probably had some doctor saying maybe, James is the only whiff.

I know the regular season is different than preseason but this blair kid looks legit. It's nice to see a raw rookie flashing.

James was the only miss and based on his college film he was a playmaker.
Blair to me is going to be a great all around rusher and solid against the run. He will be a great penetrator on Nickle downs

Nickel/Dime Front looks real good on paper:

Blair looks good. A guy that size, and still able to the 3-4 that well, he can only get better the bigger he gets. Nice pick.
