6th round pick our franchise QB, I mean your not serious? dude is a perfect fit for Chip's offense solid backup.

I mean if he plays well he can stick around but Chip ain't a QB guru he's a system guy and this kid has many flaws it will be interesting how he progresses

Chip's been able to take every QB he's gotten in this league to have career like years why does Chip have to be a QB guru if the system makes the QBs better?

Chip's more of a QB guru than the overrated "QB Whisperer" is

Because there weren't any franchise guys in this draft! Goff and wentz required throwning away their whole draft along with top picks in the future...how about you see what chip can do with Blaine and Kap first?

I have a feeling your snarky comment is a carryover because I think Kap stinks, just a guess. I keep getting blindsided in non-Kap threads for no reason and I am pretty sure why.

No not a carry over im no die hard Kap fan I was hoping he got traded actually. Just got aggravated with all the negativity following the draft. We went out and got what we needed but people still complaining.
I am not being negative, just pointing out facts. I am an admitted pessimist, but I am rarely disappointed. I don't know how many Conference USA games you watch, but most of them are shoot outs, and the defenses are not at the level of the offenses. It is like Arena football, all you need is a couple defensive stops and you win the game. Just saying you have to take offensive numbers put up in that conference with a grain of salt.

Driskel is probably the biggest steal of the draft considering where we picked him at. He's a big dude and I think he has room for more upper body size (which really doesn't mean much) but he is bottom heavy.

If an offensive technician is looking for a blank canvas to work with, Driskel possesses the type of talent and size you want to begin to work with.

Best case scenario: assign one assistant coach to work ONLY with him throughout the year. Let him develop, watch, and learn how to be an NFL QB for 2 or 3 years. Fine tune him and let him loose when it is time. For how athletic this kid is, I think he will be fundamentally ready in 1.5 years. The mental part will be decided when bullets fly.

I think people complain about every draft no matter who gets drafted. If they would have unloaded all their picks to move up for one of those top two QB's, you can bet good money people would be complaining about that too. This QB is almost as low-risk for possible return as you can get. Looks like a decent project to me, and we get to find out if Kelly really is somebody who can bring out the best in QB's with this guy and of course with our two resident super-stars.

I'm sure the Kap sympathizers see Driskel as a threat, even though Kap can't even beat out Gabbert.
Is he blonde?

I was thinking more along the lines of Dashing.
kind of excited about this pick. woulda been drafted much higher if florida knew what it was doing before he transferred out. seems to be really accurate up close to mid range, good mobility, good size, quick release, smart decision making, makes his progressions. gabbert and kap better study up or this guy is gonna put them on the bench. we lucked out because florida was stupid. hopefully found our franchise qb

Bingo...and rascal, LA and Philly traded away two yrs worth of starter picks for two guys who were rated 11 and 15(averages of multiple mocks) and were definitely NOT the best two players in the draft....and they ransomed their entire two yrs of picks on these guys. LIke some wags said, LA and Philly better hope and pray they got the right guys....because if not this is going to set them back 2 yrs in building their teams.

In LA's case, new city home (actually returning home after a couple decades being gone) and LA basically has their team for a SB run....except ....QB. So for them this was a no brainer. They had no other move. PHilly...hmmm....won't even attempt a try at WTF they were doing.
