I thought that too. But I will be surprised because Mark Davis doesn't have money like that. Khalil Mack left because Davis couldn't pay the signing bonus (30 mil or something) upfront.

I'm guessing Lamar will want a lot up front and Guaranteed.

dude wins MVP on the rook contract, led NFL in TDs, set NFL record for rush yds in a season for a QB.. like what more do you want, he's done way more than D Jones or Murray

some teams (not ALL) , are scared that Lamar is going to turn into an over rated RG3 or Kyler Murray, all while holding most of the cap space.

I can see the Commanders or Falcons going for him. Lamar in Miami would be NASTY, but I don't think it would happen..

more likely they don't want to give him 200+ million guaranteed because then every QB will be able to get big guaranteed money.

Unpopular opinion: The fact that several teams have come out so quickly and adamantly to proclaim that they're not signing Lamar actually makes me think it's less likely that it's collusion. They wouldn't make it that obvious. They would at least wait until Monday when free agency negotiations open and show a little interest first.

I'm thinking they just each genuinely don't want to trade multiple 1sts and give Lamar $250M because of injury issues + lack of productivity the past couple years and want all the reporters spamming them with texts about Lamar to stop.

I think every other team thinks that the Browns were f**king stupid to give a fully guaranteed contract to Watson and no one wants to repeat their mistake. I'm guessing every team knows exactly what Jackson is asking for and just like the Ravens, they aren't going to give it to him. Eventually his demands will drop and he'll probably end up going back to Baltimore.

I believe the Ravens get a chance to match the offer, so it doesn't matter and teams don't want to go through the hassle
Cleveland knew what it was doing.....they be playing chess this whole time lol....

Yeah giving a serial sex offender a fully guaranteed, quarter billion dollar contract was true 4D level chess.

either way it's a good strategy to get that price down. Lamar will think nobody really wants to fork up the dough so he'll ask for a lower amount. Dolla dolla bills yall
They were quick to report 4 teams were out real quick but I think only 1 team actually released a statement on twitter about it. I think it was more trash journalism then anything but I could be wrong.

Lamar is worth a lot of money but I can see why teams wouldn't want to guarantee his entire contract. He's never played a full season and he's done nothing in the playoffs. The injury thing is what scares me.

if I'm Lamar, I want a lot of money and yeah I probably want it all guaranteed. So yeah I get it.

if I'm the Ravens owner, do I really want to guarantee $200 million to a player who hasn't led me to the promise land? Who has been injured? I get it too.

At the end of the day it's millionaires vs billionaires and I can care less.
I'll put it this way if the 49ers could make an offer and if the cap space was not an issue

would you do it?

No chance. I'm 100% comfortable with Lance & Purdy and have zero interest in giving up 2 more first round picks to get this guy.

We pay 3 ones for TL but 2 ones for Lamar Jackson is a bridge too far?

I'd give up 2 ones if we had nothing else, but that's clearly not the situation we're in.
