Holding out isn't going to make his value magically increase, it'll just make him older and cost him even more salary that he'll never make up.

He's already something like $40 million behind Josh Allen due to his lack of an agent.

Let us say you are BAL and he's not signed and it's Sept 1 and your fans are in riot mode. Does the Ravens willingness to increase the pay go up? Lamar should find out.
The dollar amount that he's asking for is bad enough but I believe he's asking for a fully guaranteed contract. That's foolish for any football player but even more so for a QB like Lamar that runs as much as he does. I heard that he's only started and finished one game in December over the last 2 seasons. That stat alone would prevent me from giving him a fully guaranteed contract.
Dude like Jimmy asking for top 5 money when he's not good enough to win you a Superbowl by himself.

If your a QB that hasn't won a Superbowl or shown the ability to carry a team through 4 playoff games then you need to stay in your lane under the 30 million a year range.

Purdy has more potential than this dude. He's like on par with lance in my book. He's shown less potential then Jimmy did before he got paid.

When you have had a full contract to show you can potentially put together 4 playoff wins in a row and have not done it or gotten close then that's less potential then being young and winning a bunch of games.

There's plenty of dudes you can sign like Jimmy or Geno that can get you a positive season for less money and are less of a headache.

I think the ravens know it by this point. Imo they offered him more than he was worth for the first contract offer. Just like the cards overpaid Murray and he wants even more...

Top 5 referring to JG at this point in his career, on the 2nd contract. He got the biggest deal in NFL history. Lamar has done 10x on the rook contract that JG did.

He's asking it from the Ravens, because he's had to run so much to carry them.

They should pay him every penny that he's earned for what he's put himself through on behalf of the team.

The few Ravens fans I know think giving Lamar a huge contract would be a disaster. They certainly don't hate him (yet) but the Ravens haven't done squat in the playoffs for a long time and at least some of the fans consider Lamar to be part of that. Want to see a riot… pay him $40million/yr guaranteed and watch him disappear in the playoffs one way or another for four more years.

It just blows so many don't think Lamar should get paid..

Daniel Jones is making $40m a year who cares about $40m for Lamar that's cheap, they can find some compromise on the gtd..

Ravens fans can enjoy that QB who did a over the top on the QB sneak in the playoffs, fumbled, and it was housed like 95 yards the other way, lot of that type of play in their future.

No. It's a well run organization, they'll take the L for a year, roll with Pro Bowler Tyler Huntley and prepare to draft a QB in 2024.

Oh FFS. He's had a strong OL, a strong run game and strong defense his entire time there. There's one year in his career thus far where the Ravens didn't have a Top 10 D. He's rarely had to play from behind. He has as many 4th quarter comebacks as Baker Mayfield.

He's also played like crap in the playoffs so where exactly has he carried them?

People trying real hard in this thread to make Jackson equivalent to someone like Mahomes and he's just not that guy.

As a Fan, I wouldn't want to pay him $15M more than mahommes and fully guaranteed. Lamar is a dynamic player but paying him what he wants is just dumb. It'll cripple any team that does.

i don't think Rodgers should be getting what he is or Josh allen. They need to figure out something with these qb salaries. They're outta control and eat up too much of the cap space. The GM for Buffalo has already mentioned how hard it is to make the team better when they're paying allen and Diggs a fortune.

i wouldn't want to pay him more than $35m-$38M. Check the record of winning super bowls when you pay a ton for quarterbacks. They've never won one. Are we in the business of winning chips or overpaying?

mahommes made $35M last year and $39M this year. Lol it's a joke that he thinks he's worth $50M
