Great for Hurts. A real leader and as much as I hate the Eagles (fans specifically), I like him.
Now that's a check right there. Well deserved guy has improved every year.
Hurts gtd figure is $179m; Watson was $230m. That's in the ballpark. Consider if Hurts isn't cut by Philly he will go 5 years $255m. Watson will go 5 years $230m. If I am Lamar I now point to Hurts total dollars as the starting point.

He can point all he wants but he will need to lower his guarantee.

Its kinda silly the more i think about it. If he signs a $260 million deal for 5 years but only $180 is guaranteed, will the Ravens cut him in 4 years? Only if he doesn't live up to expectations right? If he plays as he's done in the past he''ll get that $260. So why hold out? Especially considering he could be in year 2 of his massive contract and eyeing another in 3 years.

He's holding out cuz he's getting lowballed. If they offered a Hurts style deal.. Lamar would sign.

Hurts has had exactly 1 great season. Lamar had one also and won MVP, which Hurts didn't, and led NFL in TD passes, which Hurts didn't. I like both, Hurts a tad more, but the highest contract isn't the best player, it's the most recent deal. At one point in NFL history, the highest contract was Garoppolo. Garoppolo was never on the Lamar or Hurts level in terms of being in the MVP discussion.

I am not sure what the negotiation is between the two parties. These are strong numbers, but I hear from reading online that Lamar disputes receiving this offer. I view the non exclusive tag when they had the option of the exclusive tag as a slap in the face of the player. That non exclusive tag, in and of itself, is a lowball.

He tweeted he got the 133m gtd offer over 3 years.
The non exclusive was key to him going out and finding his market value. The exclusive tag does not allow him to talk to others.

Jackson confirmed these exact numbers. That the guaranteed at signing was $133 million and the rest was springing guarantees. He had a better contract offer than Hurts just got and turned it down because he didn't understand the market, another reason why he badly needs an agent.

It's about $13m difference. I'm sure if your org chose not to give you $13m and said other firms are free to sign you, you may take that personal. Would we want other teams talking to Bosa? I wouldn't as a 49er fan.

But the argument is what is market value. Lamar is saying Watson is market value but the Ravens are saying Wilson/Murray are market value. They gave him permission to go find the market value and they will match it.

His problem is the market has spoken but he stuck his fingers in his ears yelling LALALA.

If they signed him to the exclusive, he would NOT have the ability to talk with anyone but the Ravens.

I don't think market has spoken. Lamar is not a bad guy. There is a process, it plays itself out over time. Emmitt Smith held out into the season one time, a Super Bowl caliber team started 0-2 and that's when they backed up the truck. Sometimes it takes a while, even into the regular season. He's gonna get paid but it may take a while. Meanwhile the Ravens won't have QB1 for their offseason.

Lamar is mot a bad guy, what does that have to do with the market? 3 MAJOR contracts have been signed since Watson.

And Why exclusive tag him, it is not a difference of $13m. even if it was why give him that if his goal is resigning? And if his goal is to walk why give him more money? And if you exclusive tag him he can not talk to other teams to get his value.

Then he had a 2-3 week injury and missed 6 weeks. Is he a slow healer? Hid the severity because of contract talks? Or just sat out of a chance for home playoff games, and then sat out a playoff game because of a contract dispute.
Any way is a way to argue against giving him the extra money and a high guaranteed amount.

On the market, you suggest the market has spoken.. it hasn't, there is still time here.

Why do you say it's not a dif of $13m? What I show is non exclusive, if he plays on it is $32 or so million.. exclusive is around $45m. That's a 13m diff.

If goal is resigning you show the guy some respect. We wouldn't non exclusive tag Bosa.. if we did that means we failed on two fronts: 1) we let it drag so long that we had to deploy the tag and 2) we game him the crappier of the two tags, he may take that personal in negotiations.
