you have to wait to see how Lamar's is structured before judging them. Lol Lamar could very well be making $80M+ this year.

i really don't care who's made more. Lol I just feel like this is half the story. Allen's contract extension kicks in this year. He was on the fifth year option from his rookie contract last year and the extra money he got was from the signing bonus he got a few years ago.

Take it up with Ross Tucker.

As I said......"He's never making up that difference"

Eh I don't think that's 100% accurate but we will see.

if I'm not mistaken, Josh Allen signed a team friendlier deal by signing earlier. They were able to take advantage of the years left on his rookie contract to pay a lot of his signing bonus to save room down the line. I'll have to look into it though

The crazy thing is Josh Allen is getting less with an agent that he will have to pay for making the deal for him.
I take it back, with this deal I take back collusion, it was logical to go there, but it seeems that they would have just matched any offer so were just trying to save negotiating pain. People here suggesting he had no deal due to him not being worth it were more wrong though, the NFL will always value QB's

Well good for him. Ravens gonna be screwed for awhile tho.
I'm just glad its over and everyone can move on. Most folks knew he was always going to be a Raven but some of the talking heads wanted to make more out of it by bringing in collusion, race, etc into it.

Congrats to Lamar

still LOL at the Browns

He isn't getting less. Allen has made $85m in his 5 years, Jackson $33m.
Over the next 3 years allen will make $98m i think. Jackson (likely similar to Hurts) might make $110m.
So by the end of the 2025 season. Career earnings $183m to $143m. Even if you account for a 5% it is $174.
Now Josh Allen's option clause might "hurt" him, but only if he allows it.

Lamar was dumb for not extending after year 3 on a team friendlier deal, and doubled down playing on his year 5 option(all assuming the ravens would extend him).
BUT he was smart waiting til late this offseason, letting these other extensions elevate his starting point.

Ravens are a joke. I thought John might be smarter than this ...

But the Ravens offered Lamar less than Allen, so had he signed at that time, he still would have gotten less overall. Plus he was drafted much lower than Allen, so their rookie deals had a significant difference as well. Comparing their career earnings to call Lamar "stupid" is a bit disingenuous. Lamar bet on himself, and won. He's not making more than Allen, and doesn't have to pay an agent. They took different paths to get to their payday, and Lamar felt it was important to do it with family rather than the agent structure. I don't see a need to piss in his Cheerios.

I was using their career earnings in regards to the poster saying he is getting more now. Yes he is, but at the cost of sooner.

And i never used stupid, stupid and dumb are different. Stupid is putting your hand in the boiling water, dumb is accidently touching the water trying to avoid splashing it everywhere. Stupid is dropping it in not caring about the splash.

I am curious if legitimate offers happened for him after year 3 and/or 4 or if the ravens just let it play out. But i am happy for him, but can acknowledge foregoing an agent probably "hurt" him financially.

Not true
After all the sh** talk here,...Lamar finally got his money.

Congrats, Lamar. You've more than earned it given that crap rookie contract you performed so well under.

Funny how a lot of folks said he was dumb and needed a agent.

well, what y'all think now?

they are reporting that he is now the highest paid player in the NFL

He is biblically stupid and did need an agent if he wanted more money in the long run.

Jackson was eligible for a new deal two years ago IIRC.....and Josh Allen - a guy in his draft class - had his massive contract put in place. Now that Jackson finally has his deal, Allen has made tens of millions more in that same timeframe where Jackson has been on his rookie deal. Allen is now midway, if not more than half way through his current deal......

What do you think he's gonna get in a year+? 2 years?

Bottom line....it's money Jackson will never make up unless he plays much longer than Allen.

Huh? Just breaking down the numbers,....he did just fine without one. Remember all of the injury crap on why he deserves much less than this,...especially guaranteed?

Completely irrelevant to my point. Every single player in the NFL can basically 'do just fine' without an agent.....but there is a reason why 99% of all players have one.
